This thread is to talk about the original episodes of the animated series of American Dad! being aired on TBS. The current season, to air during the 2014-15 season, will have 15 episodes. The first one, "Blonde Ambition", aired last Monday, October 20. Next six episodes are "CIAPOW" (October 27), "Scents and Sensei-bility" (November 3), "Turkey Bacon" (November 10), "Now and Gwen" (November 17), and "Dreaming of a White Porsche Christmas" (December 1).

There were also some notable changes: The show's episodes now have a "cold open" before the main title sequence. Also, the show's closed captioning is now in all-caps, instead of most letters being in lowercase (Family Guy's closed-captioning still has most letters in lowercase, however).

Some TBS promos have the new season was advertised as the "Brand-new, edgier season of American Dad!". The series is still rated TV-14-DLSV, so judging by this, I'd be surprised that AD! wasn't given a TV-MA content rating. Too bad AD! didn't move to a premium cable channel (TBS is a basic cable channel, BTW, and they have aired TV-MA programming in the past, like the short-lived Wedding Band).

Also, one of this season's episodes (currently unscheduled) is actually gonna have the word "s#!t" in its title ("Holy S#!t, Jeff's Back!"). No, really. (Sorry, chat filter.)

Anyone noticed any other differences?

Good to know it's going to last until 2016! Going to need some more tapes!

I like it being on TBS, it's cool how they have a scene before the opening credits. And it should have a TV-MA ratings. Like in South Park, it's awesome how they're using the s-word!

^^Have you ever seen a series titled Suits on the USA Network? That show uses the word "s#!t", uncensored, around 10 to 12 times per episode, yet for some odd reason they never get a TV-MA rating (it's rated TV-14 with an "L" sub-rating).

At least the (uncensored) DVDs of AD! and Family Guy get to have TV-MA ratings.
