USA Renews "Chrisley Knows Best" for Season 3, Announces Holiday Special

It's a good day to be a Chrisley! USA Network has renewed the reality series "Chrisley Knows Best" for a third season, and has also ordered a holiday special to air later this year.

Season 3 will consist of 12 episodes and debut sometime next year. A half-hour "Chrisley" holiday special is slated for December.



"Viewers have embraced the Chrisleys for their witty one-liners, laugh-out-loud moments and heartfelt everyday situations," USA President Chris McCumber said in a statement. "This family has made an indelible imprint on pop culture, and we're excited to continue the entertaining journey with them in season three."

The Season 3 pickup comes less than a week after the second season premiere hit series-high ratings. The Season 2 opener drew 2.3 million viewers and 1.3 million in the adults 18-49 demo.

USA’s breakout reality series "Chrisley Knows Best" has been picked up for a fourth season ahead of the Season 3 finale. The 30-minute unscripted comedy follows the life of Atlanta-based self-made millionaire Todd Chrisley and his eccentric Southern family, which includes his wife Julie, five kids and two grandchildren.

The news comes on the heels of a spin-off pilot commitment for a potential late-night talk show hosted by the family patriarch, as the network is looking to turn "Chrisley Knows Best" into a franchise.



Season 3 of the series is airing Tuesday nights, with the second half of the season premiering sometime in the fall. Produced by Maverick TV and All3Media America, the show has been a ratings success for the network since its debut in 2014 and was among the top 10 new unscripted shows in all key demos and total viewers.

Chrisley serves as executive producer along with Adam Greener, Stephanie Bloch Chambers, Jen Perry Leamy, Jim Sayer, Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert. Annie Kate Pons serves as supervising producer.

"Chrisley Knows Best" Renewed for Season 5 at USA

USA Network has ordered a 12-episode fifth season of its hit reality series "Chrisley Knows Best". The network also is adding six additional episodes to Season 4, bringing that order to 26.

The first half of Season 4, which aired March 8-June 14, delivered the series’ best season yet among adults 18-49 (1.4MM, up 3% vs. S3), adults 25-54 (1.5MM, up 3% vs. S3), adults 18-34 (703K, up 7% vs. S3) and total viewers (2.6MM, tying S3), in Live+7 data.

The breakout show also ranked as cable’s No. 1 unscripted series in its time slot year-to-date in these demos. The 14 remaining episodes of Season 4 will return to the network this fall, with Season 5 slated to premiere in 2017.

Ahead of its mid-season Season 5 return on September 12 at 10 PM, USA Network has renewed its hit unscripted series "Chrisley Knows Best" for a sixth season and green-lighted eight-episode after show "According To Chrisley", which will premiere at 10:30 PM immediately following the mid-season premiere.

In addition, USA has ordered 18 more episodes for Season 5, bringing the season’s total to 26, culminating in a two-part Christmas special.



"Chrisley Knows Best" drew the series’ highest ratings to date during the first half of Season 5, averaging 3.2 million total viewers each week (Live+7 P2+), according to Nielsen.

When the show returns for the back half of Season 5 next month, Chase celebrates his 21st birthday, Nanny Faye pulls an epic prank on Todd, Savannah hosts a fashion show, and the family comes together as Julie awaits word on an all-too-familiar health diagnosis.





Patriarch Todd Chrisley will host new half-hour after show "According To Chrisley", in which he’ll interact with an audience and offer advice on topics such as marriage, parenting, sex and relationships.

Additionally, every episode will feature a member of the Chrisley family, as well as a celebrity guest. Confirmed guests include Ali Landry, Chris Jericho, Nicole Sullivan, Erika Girardi, Metta World Peace, Jason George, Christina Milian, Heather and Terry Dubrow and Carmen Electra.

Chrisley Knows Best is such a funny show, it should have it's own section in "Current Sitcoms"

I find it weird this is a hit show on USA since it's literally nothing like the rest of their programming. It would be like a show about a Mariachi Band being a hit on CMT or a Show about Burly Guy's in a garage being a breakout hit for Lifetime.

The world of "Chrisley Knows Best" is expanding.

USA Network has renewed its flagship reality docu-series "Chrisley Knows Best" for a seventh season and greenlit a 16-episode spin-off "Growing Up Chrisley", both for premiere in 2019.




The spin-off will center on Chase and Savannah Chrisley as they road trip from Nashville to Los Angeles and attempt to break out on their own in the big city.

Season 7 of "Chrisley Knows Best" will continue to follow Todd Chrisley and his family throughout its 26-episode order. The back-half of Season 6 will premiere November 28 at 9/8c, with two back-to-back episodes.




“Todd Chrisley and his entire family have opened their home and hearts to America, and we are so happy to be able to continue to grow, love and laugh with them,” said Heather Olander, Senior Vice President, Alternative Development and Production, USA Network.

USA Network has ordered a second season of "Growing Up Chrisley" for premiere in August. The unscripted spin-off series follows siblings Savannah and Chase Chrisley as they embark on a cross-country move to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams.

Spawned from USA’s flagship reality hit "Chrisley Knows Best", "Growing Up Chrisley" still is airing its inaugural season, which launched April 2.

Todd Chrisley and his over-the-top Southern family continue to grow after USA Network renewed both "Chrisley" franchises.

"Chrisley Knows Best" has been picked up for Season 9, and spin-off "Growing Up Chrisley" is returning for a third season. Both will return this summer.

The news comes ahead of the season finale for "Chrisley Knows Best", which airs on March 25.

Todd Chrisley to Host E! Dating Series, "Growing Up Chrisley" & "Chrisley Knows Best" Renewed

NBCUniversal is doubling down on the Chrisley family. Todd Chrisley is to host and exec produce dating series "Love Limo" for E! as his other two reality series have been renewed.

E! will also launch a fourth season of "Growing Up Chrisley" this summer.



USA Network has also renewed "Chrisley Knows Best" for a tenth season.

It comes as the series, which ranks as USA’s most-watched current original series, will launch new episodes for season nine on June 23.
