Did anyone else catch the FOL "cameo" on ABC's hit brilliant sitcom The Goldbergs this week?? It's about a dysfunctional family in the '80s that's narrated by the youngest boy (in his adulthood), and in this episode the parents were going to renew their wedding vows which the wife was all hyped up about, but the husband wasn't big on.

So when Beverly asked Murray to write his own vows and run them by her, he got desperate for something and recited the lyrics to Family Ties. Beverly didn't realize this, but when someone pointed it out to her, she wanted to cleverly show him she knew what he did. So he comes home one day as she's in the kitchen watching---yup---FOL! It just shows the quintessential title screen of the show's logo against the Eastland backdrop from seasons 2-4, with the beginning of the song playing, and Beverly tells Murray she's going to recite her vows to him. So she says, "You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and then you have, the facts of life....the facts of ******* life!!" (they bleeped her out, lol)

A very small nod, but great to see a FOL reference on this show set in the '80s!

And the episode was actually entitled "The Facts of Bleeping Life"
