Can anyone fill me in here? Bob Heyges (who has some nice things to say about Freddie on his site), and others have said that Kotter and Chico were taped at the same location. Kotter was on ABC though. Was it taped at NBC studios like Chico was? Confused...someone straighten me out......

I know that CATM was filmed on the same set as Sanford & Son. Don't know about Kotter tho.

I think that they were taped in the same vicinity but, different areas (so to speak - like next door to each other).

Both ABC and NBC studios are located not too far from where I live, in the beautiful city of Burbank California. If the scenary is similar, it is because they are not too far from each other. Warner Brothers studio is also located in the same vicinity and Universal Studios is located just a few miles away from Burbank.

Both Welcome Back Kotter and Chico were taped at NBC studios due to the fact that they were both Jimmy Komack's shows. Chico was already being filmed there when Jimmy went into production for Kotter. Kotter was originally taped in the studio next to the Tonight Show.

Actually it's the studio where they film The Tonight Show now. Chico was first filmed on one of the stages where "Days of Our Lives" is now filmed and then switched over to a different studio.
Yes...they were both filmed at NBC. Hope this answers your question.
