I recently discovered this very funny show by checking the DVD's out at the library. Is anyone else a fan of Geraldine and her congregation?

I just started watching this show too! It's streaming on Netflix. I like it a lot. Have you seen the Elton John episode yet? That one really cracked me up. I also like how Geraldine tells a joke at the end of each episode.

I've seen the Elton John one and the animal blessing one! Both hilarious! I love that the blonde (I forget her name) never gets Geraldine's jokes and when Geraldine tries to explain she just gets even further off the track!!

Richard Curtis was creator of "Vicar" and the major writer of the Blackadder. There's a remarkable similarity (and I mean that in a good way) between this character (Alice) and Blackadder's Baldrick character.
I had never thought about the comparison between Baldrick and Alice. But you're right about the similarities!

I especially like "Animals," about a Blessing of the Animals ceremony.

I watched this one last night because of your recommendation. Thanks, it was great!:)

Another character who reminds me a lot of Alice is Officer Goody in "The Thin Blue Line"!

Who are the men on the Vicar's wall? I recognize Jesus and Mel Gibson.

Doesn't she have David Beckham up there too?

I found out that the man was Sean Bean.

I found out that the man was Sean Bean.

Thanks. I have no idea who that is, but I do remember her mentioning that name in one of the episodes.

NO,NO,NO,NO,NO, Yes.
I love Alice Tinker.
In 1998 she won the British Comedy Award for Best Actress.
Officer Goody reminds me of Monroe Ficus on To Close for comfort who was the friend of Sara.
