Holy crap is that different arrangement to the opening theme horrible. It got way too synth happy and it sounded like farts in some places. I don't recall ever hearing this version of the theme in syndication and it was good I didn't as it sucked.

I agree, it is ridiculous. And it weirdly sounds "Super '70s" with that added synth and "wow-chicka-wow" constantly in the background. It's like they doubled the wow-chicka-wow and decided to layer it. Strange for two seasons that were considered solidly 1980s.

Speaking of changes you'll also notice how different the lighting in the apartment looks now compared to the last episode of season 6, the reason being I think its mentioned in the Come And Knock On Our Door book is that season 7 and 8 were filmed at a different studio lot.

For me at least the look of seasons 7 and 8 felt more clear and vibrant and more 1980's.

Yeah I did notice that. The apartment door certainly looked different, and I agree, it's changed, and now this 70s show is clearly now set in the 80s. It definitely seems more brightly-lit.
