"Jennifer Falls" Cancelled after One Season on TV Land
by Nellie Andreeva
October 3, 2014

TV Land has opted not to renew freshman comedy series "Jennifer Falls" for a second season. The project, developed as multi-camera but piloted as single-camera, broke ground for TV Land as the cable network’s first single-camera original series.

It kicked off a trend, with all of TV Land’s new series orders since going to single-camera comedies: "Younger", the Jim Gaffigan show and, most recently, "Impastor" and "Teachers".

"Jennifer Falls" marks the second new TV Land series in a row to get cancelled after one season, following "Kirstie".

It starred Jaime Pressly as Jennifer Doyle, a career woman and mother who must move back in with her own mom after being let go from her high-powered, six-figure-salary job. With her teenage daughter in tow, Jennifer has to face her new life and figure out the next steps to rebuild.

So, this is why I have not seen any episodes of it in awhile.

Well so much for TV Land trying to break new ground.

TV Land sucks. They also cancelled Happily Divorced not too long ago which was much better than Hot In Cleveland IMO. Hot In Cleveland is stupid.

Not to be negative but, how good can a show be if it is made by TV Land? The four major networks passed on it, probably TBS passed on it, which brings it down the pike to TV Land.

Why is TV Land even making their own TV shows? I thought the network showed reruns. But people now can watch reruns online, and so that business model is somewhat obsolete. I also think the younger generation under 30 are not interested in I Love Lucy.

The new shows on the Big Four are horrible this year, so how good can the rejects be?

TV Land are going to need some new blood eventually. The only long time sitcoms they have are The Soul Man, The Exes and Hot In Cleveland. That isn't many. Especially as The Soul Man only has about 8-10 episodes a year.

I watched Jennifer Falls a couple times but didn't care about it. But I'm really bummed to find out they cancelled Kirstie. I was enjoying that one (mostly). I could relate to Milo (again mostly) because I'm an adoptee. But my birth parents weren't/aren't anybody famous, LOL. And my adoptive dad and mom never kept it a secret from me.
