A big improvement over the Pilot. Overall, just flat out funnier. I'm gonna keep watching it.
All the "black" talk is non-existent throughout the second episode.

Yesterday's episode was wack. I didn't understand why Anthony Anderson had to take his shirt off to talk to his son about sex. Then later his son took off his shirt to talk about sex with him. His son later on kept asking him questions about sex and then Anthony started hiding from him because he wanted to avoid talking about sex. In one scene, Anthony was laying on top of the washing machine so he could hide from his son which I thought was crazy. How can his big ass be laying on top of a washing machine watching a movie on his cellphone? LOL. Then what really tripped me out was the ending when Anthony didn't have any clothes on and he was gonna walk outside to get the newspaper. The camera covered up his booty but I thought that was very weird that he didn't have any clothes off. He also looked gay when he was in the bathroom with his wife Tracey Ross and he had his bath towel wrapped around his body like a woman LOL.
I also didn't understand why Tracey was talking inside her mind when she was talking to her oldest daughter because her daughter was talking to her friend about her problems and Tracey told her that she could talk to her about anything. So when her daughter came to her twice, Tracey was talking inside her head and I thought that was stupid because when her daughter was done talking, Tracey said now what did you say. I also think Larry Fishburne needs to be shown more and he should have some more lines because he doesn't get shown that much. This show isn't gonna last long and I won't be watching anymore. I think Anthony is trying too hard to be funny when he shouldn't do that because he's funny. He's had a comedy tv show before called All About The Andersons and John Amos played his dad. That was a good show. If Blackish gets cancelled fast, I'm sure Anthony and Larry aren't gonna be mad because they can continue to do movies. Anthony has done 2 other tv shows before which were The Shield and Law and Order.

I saw episode two on Hulu and I have to give it up - it was much better than episode one mostly due to the lack of black talk. I feel like Anthony Anderson just isn't the right actor for this show. Like isiahthomas said he comes across as trying too hard and he's not funny on this program.

Believe it or not the only part I laughed hysterically was when Anthony caught his son masturbating, the rest of the episode was average but not enough to keep me watching.

is this show supposed to be a dramedy or an actual sitcom?
i saw the first episode and thought it was ok, but it wasn't funny enough. the second episode didn't make me laugh out loud. the 2 little kids were the highlight even though they appeared in 2 short scenes together.
if the writing had been better, and had this been a multi-cam sitcom instead of a single cam sitcom, i would have enjoyed black-ish more.
i know the ratings for last week's episode was high, but i think that is going to be a one-off. given as things stand now and the direction of the show it is heading currently, i see black-ish not lasting more than 1 season.

One thing I noticed is that the older kids and the younger kids don't interact together. I don't remember seeing the older kids even talking to each other! Usually on sitcoms (and in the real world), the brothers and sisters argue and pick on each other. It's like everyone is in their own world on this show.

The second episode was better but it still isn't as good as The Middle or The Golbergs.
