View Full Version : Yogurt: Fruit on the bottom or mixed in?
Family Ties Forever! 09-28-2014, 03:17 AM For those who like yogurt, do you prefer the kind that has fruit on the bottom or the kind where the fruit is mixed in already?
I like the kind that is already mixed. Yoplait is good. :)
MrCleveland 09-28-2014, 08:07 AM I like mixed fruit...never cared for fruit on the bottom...It's what I'm used to....
OH Nuts! 09-28-2014, 10:10 AM I've always liked the fruit on the bottom. But these days I only eat one brand: it's a fat free Greek yogurt with "fruit" at the bottom made by Dannon that only has 8-9 carbs per container. I actually like it better than the regular brands too; I found the sugar(corn syrup) sweetening too cloyingly sweet.
Bonniegirl 09-28-2014, 10:44 AM I usually eat Yoplait, so that is already mixed . But sometimes I buy other kinds that have the fruit on the bottom and I have to mix myself. That is OK, so I'm gonna say both. I love yogurt. Regular, not as big a fan of Greek yogurt though!
Here is one I buy a lot besides Yoplait, it is good. Generic store brand of the Ralph's grocery chain. Ralph's is West coast, it is called Kroger in some other states.

If I get regular yogurt it's usually the kind that's already mixed, but if it's greek yogurt I like it fruit on the bottom.
gidgetgrape 09-28-2014, 11:56 PM Both types are okay, but I usually have mixed.

ponytail 09-30-2014, 05:56 AM Nothing but plain yogurt for me. The fruit yogurts have too much sugar. I have to watch my sugar intake.

I should try the plain! I should cut down on my sugar! ;) But I have fun picking out the flavors! :)
70s show watcher 09-30-2014, 07:19 PM I like mine mixed in
I like it already mixed in.

With the plain yogurt do you cut up fruit to mix with it? It would give it the good fruit flavor, but more natural without the sugar!
I'm not diabetic where as I can't have sugar. But I have cholesterol issues and tend to have high blood pressure, so I really need to eat healthier. I prefer to get myself together naturally without medication. The salt is more of the problem, but if I can cut down on the processed sugar too it would be cool! ;)
And I am not really fat, but have gained weight. If I lost 20 pounds it would be good. 30 would be fantastic!!! ;)

Actually I do plain fat-free Greek yogurt about half to two-thirds of the time. I often take some slivered almonds and some sugar-free almond syrup (Da Vinci's) brand and mix it in. It's delicious! Or I just throw in a package of Splenda, which is good too.
But the low-carb fruit versions are a nice change of pace every now and then.
veggie-tari-jenn 10-21-2014, 11:15 PM both are fine with me....I usually buy whats on sale and I have a coupon for...but Oikos is my absolute fave....
comedyfreak 10-23-2014, 04:46 AM Either way is fine with me. I tend to get whatever is on sale.
80sTrivia 10-25-2014, 04:43 PM Fruit on the bottom for me, as I like to blend it in myself.
James28 10-30-2014, 01:46 AM I have typically preferred yoghurt with the fruit already mixed in over the fruit-on-the-bottom / Greek-type yoghurt. I'd be willing to take either kind, but I'm leaning towards the kind with the fruit already mixed in, because in the fruit-on-the-bottom yoghurt, the flavor can't be spread evenly sometimes if I try to blend it in.
AMackII 11-13-2017, 08:40 AM I actually prefer mixed better
Mixed in. Actually, I prefer starting with Plain Yogurt and then mixing in a
little Strawberry, Raspberry or Apricot Preserves-less Sugar that way. I also
prefer Fage Greek Style Yogurt.

Same here.
Neither because I like no fruit.
Bonniegirl 11-15-2017, 02:03 AM After back reading I have a change of heart (or taste) ! :) I used to really like Yoplait . I got kind of tired of that, :p and now I REALLY like the Greek yogurt a lot! Esp. Oikos !! ;)
I love the Key lime and lemon meringue flavors best! :happyface

Coffeecup 11-16-2017, 11:20 PM I Have never had fruit mixed in. I try to find yogurt with low sugar. Sometimes depending on price and sugar content, I have the fruit on the bottom. Most of the time I buy plain tubs and add cinnamon.
Tubehead 11-17-2017, 04:42 AM sorry i don't like yogurt
