Ok, did you ever notice how Howard was very cool calm and collected during the early episodes? His mannerism, attitude and advice was always calm and confident, almost like "father knows best". The only early episodes that I can remember when Howard got upset is when Richie campaigned for Stevenson and when him and Richie were arrested at the late night drag race.

Howard became much more emotional and cantankerous after the 3rd season... "We got fire!... We got fire!"

I dunno - I mean, I think Howard was pretty calm and cool most of the time but occasionally did lose his temper throughout the series - especially near the end of the series when Potsie was working at the hardware store.
