VH1 Renews "Dating Naked" for Second Season

VH1 has picked up a second season of its one-hour reality show "Dating Naked" – the show in which male and female contestants go on blind dates, sans clothes, in an exotic location, hoping they’ll click and find that special one.
"Dating Naked‘s" new season will premiere on Thursday at 9 PM ET/PT and is hosted by Amy Paffrath.
"Dating Naked" averaged a 0.6 among adults 18-49 and 1 million total viewers each week according to Live +3 ratings. Online, the series has accumulated 500K weekly streams with episode six hitting a season high of 750K streams.
The upcoming episode this Thursday, Dating Naked: The Wedding, focuses on 12 contestants who are already in a relationship with someone they met on the show.
Two — Ashley, an artist from Colorado, and Alika, a yoga instructor from California — are ready to take their relationship to the next level in front of family and friends, all of whom will be naked on the show.
In a statement, VH1 EVP Original Programming & Production Susan Levison claims that Season 1 “helped 6 couples find love this season.” But there was one contestant who was left rather unhappy: 28-year old Jessie Nizewitz.
In August, she slapped Viacom and "Dating Naked" producers Ligththearted Entertainment and Firelight Entertainment with a $10M lawsuit over the show’s failure to blur out her privates.
Since the initial airing of the third episode of "Dating Naked", “Plaintiff has suffered and continues to suffer severe extreme emotional distress, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment, as the uncensored episode and uncensored pictures therefrom have been uploaded to various internet websites including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr,” said the 12-page filing.
In addition, the filing also specified that Nizewitz suffered economic hardship due to the defendants’ unauthorized commercial use of the uncensored images of her.
