Granted this show lasted a lot longer than most shows which usually get canceled after six episodes, but still, I think Rhoda ended too soon.

The writing in Season 5 seemed to have declined in quality compared to Season 4 to me at first, but since I re-watched the Season 5 shows they're growing on me. Jack Doyle became too nice of a guy in Season 5 but the show is still well-grounded in reality and humorous situations are still there.

Too bad the audience numbers just weren't there to keep this show going. And though it was doing fairly well on Sunday nights in Season 4 when they moved the show to Saturdays on Season 5 what they replaced Rhoda with on Sunday did better in the ratings. Shame.

Rhoda just seemed like a show that could have had longer legs if you ask me, had the writing stayed well and as long as they weren't trying to spin anyone else off into their own sitcom.....although unfortunately in Season 5 it looks like that's what they were setting up Brenda and Benny to do....
