I remembered watching a movie with Desi Jr. and I thought it was Mike Evans (Lionel from All in the family & the Jefferson's) wasn't sure about that , Desi and a cute black guy on a boat trip. :) Anyway I researched it and indeed it was Mike Evans . And I even found a pic. I watched this when I was 10, and even at my young age thought they were both so hot! ;) OMG Desi with longer hair !! SIGH!!! :happyface

Yeah , like I said I saw it when I was about 10, a made for TV movie. So long ago. I wish somewhere, some channel would show it again! ;) Another movie I remember from back than with Desi was Mr. and Mrs. BoJo Jones. Also starring Christopher Norris. ( I always wondered why a lady was named Christopher) They were teenagers in the 50's , and she got pregnant and they had to get married. Desi's name was BoJo ! LOL! :D

I found a picture of this, but it won't post! :(

And yes, very sad when Mike Evans passed. :(

I never saw this movie, but do recognize the title. It's rather odd, but several times throughout the 70s, Desi Jr. was cast as an expectant father, usually in an out-of-wedlock pregnancy: Bojo Jones; Having Babies; Black Market Baby.

I did not know about the movie with Desi Arnez, Jr. and Michael Evans. But I saw it about two years ago on a low-budget station. I had to look it up because I had never known about it.

It was very good.

There was a folk song that was used in the film. It was also recorded by Simon and Garfunkle.

That's right. The song is El Condor Pasa. It has a distinctly Andean sound. Here's the Simon and Garfunkle version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pey29CLID3I

And the entire movie it turns out is on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jzqhB0IZY0

By the way, his name is Arnaz, not Arnez.

I've never seen that movie with Desi Jr. and Mike Evans, but I would love too! Desi Jr. did a great movie with Richard Thomas that I love called Red Sky at Morning. Richard Thomas is the lead, but Desi Jr. plays his best friend and looks super cute. About 8 or so years ago, I begged one of my internet friends who lives in another state to record it for me when it came on cable and he did. Anyone else ever see it?

Okay, I will give you Erik Estrada and Desi Jr., but John Boy Walton is mine!:happyface

I added some screenshots (currently the first 3 rows) from Red Sky at Morning to the gallery awhile back:

I remember Mr and Mrs Bo Jo Jones. I wish they would bring back so 90 minutes movies they did in the early 70's. Being a teen then, I love those movies.

I picked up this one on DVD a few years ago at some random flea market I came across.

It's a double-feature w/ A Real American Hero (1978).

Me too!!! And a lot of them were cautionary stories about not getting pregnant or doing drugs. So Mom watched my siblings and I with a watchful eye to see if we learned any lessons!!! LOL!! I was like yeah mom OK, but being my rebellious self, I was really like Whoa!!! This sex and drug stuff seems cool!! :D In these movies to really deter young girls from first time sex and unplanned pregnancy they would have put ugly boys in the movies, not cute ones like Desi Jr!!! :D

Maybe I'll come home in the spring with Sallie Field was really awesome. I ordered it from Amazon, should come soon!! :)

I was totally opposite. I was like a little adult. I took those movies seriously. The ones that affected me most were about child abductions, like "Adam" and "I Know My First Name Is Steven." I was so bad that one time my Mom dropped me off alone in front of school (she had to go to work early) and I said, "Are you sure this is safe?" The movie that scared me the most was "The Atlanta Child Murders." I remember there was a scene where the murderer cut a screen and took a girl out of her bedroom. I had a lot of sleepless nights after that.

I remember MR. & MRS. BO JO JONES (I always thought that's a strange name), it came out in 1970 (I think) when I was 13. I remember it came out just as the "wave of nostalgia" was starting. I remember it was the first time I saw anything set in the 50s and also the first time I heard of an unmarried teenager getting pregnant.
I remember when his girlfriend told him she was pregnant they were on the beach and no one was around and she just turned to him and said "I'm pregnant'" and you heard a wave crash on the shore. I remember I was expecting to hear a laugh track and thought it strange when there wasn't one!!!

I think it was one of the first TV movies.

This explains why when I saw the book in the library there was a couple lying on the beach. I haven't read the book or seen the movie yet, so I had no idea that's what was going on. thanks for the info!

Would Lucy disapprove? She once commented on Dick Cavett's longer hair, saying he looked like "The Little Dutch Boy," but she seemed to like it...!
