Patty Duke 09-11-2014, 11:03 PM There are lot of shows I feel should have been canceled long before they were, too many to list.
One show that shouldn't have been canceled was 'Reba'. I really liked the show, I think Van and Barbara Jean made that show and they cracked me up. It was a highly rated show. The show was canceled when The WB Television Network and UPN merged into The CW Television Network.
I also liked the show, 'Harry's Law', on NBC, it had good ratings but it was canceled.
I quote, NBC has a message for "Harry's Law" fans: Well, we tried, but you folks are just too dang old for advertisers. On paper, the cancellation looked a bit surprising, because "Harry's Law" is NBC's second most-watched drama behind "Smash." "Harry's Law" averaged 8.8 million total viewers this season, compared with 9 million for "Smash," according to Nielsen. And it drew more viewers than "Law & Order: SVU" (7.6 million), which just got renewed for next fall.
Well I'm certainly NOT old and loved the show and apparently so did a lot of of us that contacted NBC but they didn't listen and didn't care.
I LOVE 'Longmire' and it's been canceled and get this..... A&E's drama 'Longmire' had higher ratings than 'Mad Men,' but the show was recently canceled. Why? Because advertisers are obsessed with younger viewers. I say it's a bunch of bologna! I am in the so called age group they aim for and the shows they want to shove down my throat are a bunch of trash. It seems like the few shows my husband and I like are always canceled but they keep all the Reality and crap shows.
Mace Dolex 09-12-2014, 12:47 AM Popular (got cancelled way too soon and with a few subplots hanging)
Teen Angel (the premise might have been absurd but the kid playing TA had real good comedic timing)
The Critic (just as it was picking up it gets canceled)
Least favorite shows
Friends (4-5 years would've been enough don't know how it manage to last 10 years)
Anger Management (its on FX so they'll show any garbage)
Two And A Half Men (don't know how its lasted way past its prime)
UMFaninMD 09-12-2014, 11:12 PM USA canceled the sci-fi drama The 4400 and ended the finale on a cliffhanger. It was disappointing but back then that type of show just wasn't getting the audience as it would if it was introduced today. The same with the V reboot on ABC. After so much hype, they never gave the show a chance. Like The 4400, if launched today on a different network, it might have been successful. And all these reality-competition shows need to be put out of their misery---Survivor, American Idol, DTWS, Big Brother, The Voice...they add nothing and are just televised popularity contests.

Regulus 09-17-2014, 08:20 AM The cancellation that irked me the most was NBC's Cliffhangers in 1979. An homage to the old-time movie serials, this had three shows, one was a mystery, the second horror, and the third was a western/science fiction. NBC had the audacity to cancel this series WITHOUT airing the final episode! :angryfire It took me almost 30 years to see that final episode, with a little help from our little friends at ioffer. :D
