"Married...with Children" Spin-off in the Works!

This Bud's for you! And that horribly horrible pun is the way we're breaking the news to you that a "Married…with Children" spin-off show is in the works!

Sony Pictures Television is taking out a pitch for a new series based on David Faustino's character, Bud Bundy, sources confirm exclusively to E! News. Sony TV has not yet commented.

So far, there is no network deal in place, as pitch meetings are just beginning, but it certainly seems a promising idea... Right?





When we caught up with the whole former cast at Katey Sagal's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony earlier this week, Christina Applegate teased something might be happening.

"We're going to do something with Dave maybe. I don't know if it will be in character," she spilled. "But I don't really know. I don't know what that's going to be. I don't know if I'm allowed to speak on that at all. So I should probably stop talking about it right now!"

I'd like to see that!! I miss Married with Children.

I wonder if he'll still live at the house and if he does, how will they explain the absence of his parents and sister?

It's kind sad that David Faustino's first show/film in years is based on the character that made him famous. Unlike the rest of the family (Ed O'Neill w/ Modern Family, Katey Sagel w/ Futurama, 8 Simple Rules, and Sons of Anarchy, and Christina Applegate w/ Anchorman and her short-lived sitcoms Jesse, Samantha Who? and Up All Night), he really never got past MWC.

Faustino says he’s developing a spinoff with Sony. Speaking at the premiere of Vacation, where Faustino attended to support Married “sister” Christina Applegate,” Faustino tells E! News: "The whole cast, including Christina, is down to do little bits in it…The idea would be a pilot for a spinoff. That's all I can say right now. It involves me and few other people.”

I would watch this show. Bud is my favorite character on "Married ... with Children" anyway, so it would be great to see the Bundy legacy continue for the next generation.

I can't see a spin off

I hope this happens. I know it won't be as great as the original, but if the characters are still as goofy but just older it could still have potential.

It would be interesting to see the Bundy life in today's life. I wonder if Al still sells shoes?? Peggy's TV upgrade to a flat screen??

I want the reboot as I love Married... With Children and Bud's character. However, the description Ed O'Neill gave for the proposed spin-off didn't sound great to me. Don't get me wrong, I'd have watched it anyway, haha.

The legal issue he talks about? Someone said three or four years ago that the contract wih FOX didn't allow spinoffs with the kids. It was probably for child labor reasons, but it may still be enforcable.

Really its fine with me. The original series couldn't be topped.
