In the Up At Bat episode, Mr. Howell says this line, according to the subtitles on the DVD:

Madame your decorator should be flogged, and his ballet pumps burned.

However it seems much more likely that he is saying "Bally pumps" than "ballet pumps". Bally is a shoe brand that makes pumps, and I don't know if there is any such thing as ballet pumps.

Has anyone else noticed this, and am I missing something here?

Thanks!

John

It always sounded like ballet pumps to me and I believe it's a correct term.

I always thought 'ballet pumps' too. Implying the decorator was a bit ... well, as they would have put it in the 1960s, 'limp wristed'. :D
