They were always struggling with the rent because of the missing contribution from him due to job LOL They could have just told him that they need someone with a job and he could have moved back to San Diego with his mom

I guess the only thing that saved him was that he was a good cook, But still he didn't have a steady Job until season 6 LOL They were taking care of him while he went to school like they were his parents

True, he didn't have a full time job. But in one episode there was mention of checks from the government from his military service. I think in that episode he was waiting for that check so he could pitch in for the rent. I guess that may explain how he was paying for school (GI Bill) on part time jobs.

He worked a lot of part time jobs so he could contribute to the rent, but it goes to show he probably saved zero dollars.

UPDATE: I just checked and it was "Loan Shark" in season 4. The check Chrissy threw away was for $300 and for his tuition.

Got me thinking....here are the jobs we know Jack had (feel free to add on):

-Nude photo model ($10/hr, one time that we see)
-Painting building for Roper ($50/day, maybe 3 days tops)
-Substitute bartending for Jim (a few hours here and there)
-Sold encyclopedias (lasted one day, no sales)
-Sandwich shop where old woman came to help him (I don't think this lasted too long)
-Chef at diner with handsy boss (lasted a few days)
-Busboy (lasted one day)
-Angelino's chef (I think this was part time, he always seemed to work evenings)
-Owner at Jack's Bistro

.....not a great track record, lol.

Seriously Jack should have been living with his parents while going to school. In real life and these days he wouldn't be chasing skirts and couldn't possibly be a ladies' man, because no woman would want to go out with his broke a$$, like you said.

Apparently in the Season 2 episode with the 13 year old girl Jack says he's almost double her age and that was in 1978 so we can safely assume Jack Tripper was born around 1952. 26 year old guy going to cooking school and no steady job.....yeah that guy needs to be living in his mom's basement, trying to save a little bit of money where he can. He's not ready for prime time with all those women.
