View Full Version : What is Next for Nick@Nite?
factsoflife 09-09-2014, 01:25 AM What shows do you think Nick@Nite will start airing in the next 2-3 years (or beyond)? Only include shows that Nick is not currently airing and that have not yet been announced.
again, what shows do you think Nick WILL air, not what you want them to air?
I have no doubt in my mind that at some point in the next 3 years Nick will eventually get the rights to The Big Bang Theory; it is such a big hit. I also would not be surprised (so long as the ratings hold up and it's not cancelled soon) if they eventually got the rights to The Goldbergs.
The Middle also seems like one they'll eventually get their hands on.
And someday in a few years I wouldn't be shocked to see Modern Family also picked up by Nick@Nite.
What shows do you think Nick will eventually air?
I wonder if maybe someday they'll start airing Reba? it seems like it would fit well with George Lopez and Full House.
Tubehead 09-09-2014, 01:59 AM I can see theses shows:
the Simpsons
Seinfeld
two and half man
the big bang theory
Tubehead 09-09-2014, 12:46 PM I think the middle or the Goldberg's would do good I also wish they would add 8 simple rules for dating my teenager daughter

The Simpsons and Seinfeld seem too edgy for Nick@Nite... I don't think they'd do well there. They also don't fit the "family" theme well. 2.5 Men I'm on the fence about as well.

Sounds like a plan to me.
mets82 09-09-2014, 05:28 PM I remember reading somewhere that Seinfeld was coming to Nick at Nite. Even if that was true, I dont see why not. I mean Friends could be even more edgier than Seinfeld and they air that. For me, I go with:
Seinfeld
Modern Family
The Middle

According to Wikipedia Everybody Loves Raymond will come to N@N in 2015. I'm guessing if thats true then King of Queens won't be far behind it.
I have found no information about Seinfeld going to Nick@Nite.
MrCleveland 09-09-2014, 10:20 PM I will have no doubt HIMYM will make it to Nick at Nite...I still dislike this show because of NPH's character Barney Stinson...the biggest jerk on prime-time since JR.

George Lopez now has the "cancellation slot" so it won't be around much longer

Friends or Seinfeld should not be on N@N since they are nowhere near family sitcoms

Everybody Loves Raymond will probably do very well. I can also see Reba and 8 Simple Rules on Nick at Nite, but with less success.
I'm glad they once again have the rights to Full House and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Maybe they'll add more '90s shows.
I just don't see any show becoming a massive success on Nick at Nite anymore. They'll never have another I Love Lucy, Three's Company, The Cosby Show, or Roseanne.
I haven't watched Nick at Nite in YEARS, but if they added Seinfeld, I would tune in here and there.

It already has. This week. It debuted this week.

And they don't care about family shows anymore with Friends and HIMYM being their most recent pickups, The Middle fits more on the stations it currently airs on (primetime on Hallmark!)

According to tweet and Wikipedia and thefutoncritic, Nick at Nite is officially premiering another original sitcom, "Divorced Family". It's set to premiere February 15, 2015. It has 15 episodes in one season.
EmoJoe 09-21-2014, 05:06 PM I can see theses shows:
the Simpsons

Pretty sure FXX has exclusive cable rights to The Simpsons reruns.

MrCleveland 09-22-2014, 06:29 AM It already has. This week. It debuted this week.
Figures...I like it more than "Two and a Half Men" now, but HIMYM is STILL a show that I love to hate!
