The Beverly Hillbillies never had a proper final episode, but if they had , how would you have ended it for each of the cast members?

Since series creator and writer Paul Henning produced "The Return Of The Beverly Hillbillies," I guess you could say that the exposition delivered by Miss Hathaway summed up what would've happened to wrap up the series. After Granny passed away, Jed divided his fortune between Elly May and Jethro and moved back to the hills. Elly May opened up a Zoo and Jethro decided to run Mammoth Studios.

Of course that's 10 years after the series was canceled during the great CBS rural purge.

I think I would've liked to have seen something similar.

However, one thing I would've liked to have seen was Mr. Drysdale behaving more as he did in the first few seasons. In the final seasons he got downright silly; I'm talking Jethro silly. His ever growing obsession with money and Simon Legree behavior went way over the top.

However, as a series wrap-up, I would've liked to have seen the following:

Elly May finally meets a man who can match her in every way. They fall in love and decide to get married. Since Granny insists on a good old fashion Tennessee hitchin', the Clampetts, the Drysdales and Miss Hathaway all head to Bug Tussle for the wedding.

While there, Jed meets a beautiful Tennessee woman who he later finds out also happens to be worth millions. The fall in love and make it a double wedding.

At the wedding, Jed makes an announcement that since the main reason he headed to Beverly Hills in the first place was to find Elly a husband, there's really no reason to return there. He decides it time for the Clampetts to move back to Tennessee.

Upon hearing this news, Mr. Drysdale faints, Mrs. Drysdale jumps for joy and actually gives Granny a big hug "Goodbye" and the two sit down to split a jug of Granny's tonic.

Jethro tells his Uncle Jed that since he's now a sophisticated Beverly Hills playboy, he'd prefer to stay in Beverly Hills. Jed then decides to give Jethro 25% of his fortune, the movie studio and the mansion. This makes Mr. Drysdale happy, but he's still upset about losing Jed's business. Jed's new wife has a solution.

The series ends with Jethro back in Beverly Hills, Elly May and her new husband opening up a Children's Zoo & Critter Hospital in Memphis. Granny back in her beloved hills of Tennessee. Jed and his new wife living in a very large wood cabin.

We then learn about Jed's new wife's solution: We see a new building in Bug Tussle with a sign on the front that reads "Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills - Bug Tussle branch - Jane Hathaway, Branch President.

I think a fitting series finale would have seen the oil well on the Clampett property go dry, the Clampetts loose their fortune and move back to the cabin in the woods where they started from.

Most series finales are not good, so I'm glad they never had one.

I guess everybody is trying to forget The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies, where Drysdale is in Prison for stealing Jed's money, and Jethro is a physician (!)?

Sorry I'm new to this forum and can't figure out how to start a new thread.

I'm trying to find the episode name, season, etc. with "Conky the Plumber" the undercover detective working for Mr. Drysdale.

I remember it as a kid as being, "HILL"arious and haven't been able to find any info. anywhere.

P.S. - This was a black and white episode
