Oh well, I just botched my own post.

I put in "Sanford & Son" twice...can I edit it?

My favorite is most definitely Barney Miller. I'm about to be through with the series from Shout!'s release, and it's been as good as it was made out to be.

...Well this has become even more embarrassing.

Barney Miller was a great show, a truly underrated sitcom.

If only the voices here on the board could run Viacom!

I can't vote on this one because I like several of these shows equally. My parents have them on DVD and or VHS.

And my favorites from the list are....
All In The Family
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Laverne & Shirley
Happy Days
Sanford & Son
M.A.S.H
Sanford & Son

BUT there were Lots of great shows from the 70's not mentioned.

I love them all except for "M*A*S*H". I voted for "Three's Company".

It was so hard to pick from your list since so many of those shows are favorites. I picked Laverne & Shirley, they were always so funny and got into such wacky situations.

I picked Other, too, since these sitcoms were conspicuously absent:

1. WKRP in Cincinnati
2. Taxi
3. Barney Miller
4. The Bob Newhart Show

I went with "All in the Family", that show talked about things that never have and never will be on another sitcom!
