I was very young when Family Affair went off the air (2 years old) but I have vague memories of seeing a few episodes so I must've seen it in reruns in the 70s when I was a little older. So I'm hoping some members who were older can help me out with this and maybe remember seeing this.

I have vague memories of one episode in particular that scared the daylights out of me! I seem to remember that Buffy was having nightmares, and they seemed to be all about Mr. French. I remember one scene she thinks she's awake but she's actually dreaming and Mr. French is standing near her bed and it's mostly dark and he's staring at her in the most creepy way! And they have a short conversation but I can't remember what was said and she wakes up. Another scene (I think) Buffy, and Jody and Brian Keith's character are on some big dark creepy bridge and Buffy wants to walk to the other end of it and they keep telling her not to but she does it anyways, and I seem to remember that on the other end of the bridge is a pair of large hands coming over the edge of the bridge and waiting to grab her, and I seem to remember they were Mr. French's hands. Was this an actual episode or am I crazy? LOL. And if it was, what on earth was going on that she was having these nightmares? I just remember that it gave me the creeps and it was very scary and disturbing to me! If anyone can tell me something about it that would great thanks. I really just want to know if it was an actual episode and what was happening in it because that's basically all I can remember about it.

You're thinking of the tenth episode of Season 3, #70 overall: "A Matter of Choice," Dec. 9, 1968
Here's a description from IMDb:
"Cissy befriends a girl who uses her to disobey her parents. Uncle Bill feels that Buffy and Jody would benefit from listening to fairy tales than watching war-based programs on TV, but the fairy tales end up giving them nightmares."

Later that season, Buffy & Jody become lost while on a trip to Spain. Certainly some stressful times for the twins in Season 3...!

Thank you Biffbronson that clears that up. I'd actually decided to research it myself after I posted, and I was thinking it was another episode I was reading a synopsis of, a Halloween one called Nightmare On 71st Street, but obviously that would be wrong too. Anyways, I never want to see it again!

It's a very creepy episode for a family sitcom!
