End with Episode 1? Sounds weird, but I get that suggestion. The Simpsons premiered with a Christmas special, and Christmas is at midseason. I could possibly do a one-hour christmas special / series finale, which would be part of a shortened season of 12 to 14 episodes. Another Christmas episode may be the right way to go if you can't think of a god way to end the series's orignal run if you absolutely must do so (especially if it lack story arcs).

I feel that "The Simpsons" stopped becoming Matt Groening's show by 2002, It's only on rather than "Futurama" because it's FOX's Cash Cow and the Cash Cow goes...MOO!
