Gilda in a close race with Bill Murray, with Lovitz third.

Agree with Gilda and Bill but I've never found Jon Lovitz to be even remotely funny. He would easily be among my top 5 most boring SNL stars.

As for my #1 pick, I have to go with John Belushi. The man was just too funny and a comic genius who would only have gotten better if not for his tragic death.

They weren't the flashiest, but the most versatile cast members were Dan Aykroyd and Phil Hartman. The absolute worst was Norm MacDonald.
