Gerry Anderson,the radio broadcaster from Northern Ireland has died aged 69. His seemingly trivial radio patter manner with callers in the province masked a serious and intelligent persona,which unfortunately did not see the light of day during his brief period with BBC Radio's flagship station Radio 4, prompting a deluge of complaints from its mostly Middle England conservative-thinking and Conservative-voting clientele.
