Tony Shalhoub Joins "Nurse Jackie" Season 7 in Recurring Role

Nurse Jackie‘s Emmy muscle just got even stronger.

Tony Shalhoub — a three-time Emmy winner (and eight-time nominee) for "Monk" — has landed a recurring role on Season 7 of Showtime’s dark comedy, opposite four-time champ Edie Falco and one-time winner Merritt Wever. (Whew!)

Shalhoub will play Dr. Bernard Prince, a new ER doctor who in addition to having “a great bedside manner and a special touch with his boss, Gloria Akalitus (Anna Deavere Smith),” will offer Jackie some desperately needed friendship.



The pay cabler renewed "Nurse Jackie" back in April, while confirming that star Peter Facinelli would exit the series before production began on Season 7.
