I guess what I'm trying to say is that at least the first season (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105958/board/flat/232978993?p=1) (the junior high/middle school season) doesn't seem to fit in as much continuity wise (then again, "continuity" was never Boy Meets World's strong suit anyway) w/ the rest of the series.
So far, Girl Meets World has acknowledged that Topanga back in sixth grade, was the "weird hippie girl" in Cory and Shawn's class. It seemed like as the producers wanted Topanga to be Cory's full-fledged love interest in the ensuing seasons, they proceeded to "normalize" her (https://web.archive.org/web/20070108131927/http://www.jumptheshark.com/b/boymeetsworld.htm) (I've read that she soon turned into more or less a "valley girl").
And most recently, there was the reappearance of a now grown up Minkus. Yes, I know that Minkus was in the high school graduation episode after being absent since the end of Season 2. But still, he was for the most part, a non-entity during the "prime years" (i.e. the high school years of Seasons 2-5), it's somewhat hard to immediately remember who that is.
