View Full Version : Opening shot treky 08-16-2014, 03:53 AM were those 3 girls really naked in the opening? comedyfreak 08-16-2014, 06:51 AM Probably not. Marvo301 08-16-2014, 03:45 PM I was wondering the same thing the other day! My guess is that their not. Hazel Anyday 08-16-2014, 07:40 PM If only that tub they're all in were made of plastic. Bonniegirl 08-19-2014, 01:13 AM Here ya go guys!!!! https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQmrBFWF_iP09_Dtagn66bK4uiLjCoJ2XConhAJShjdqxcxdk6n treky 08-19-2014, 01:37 AM If only that tub they're all in were made of plastic. it wasn't a tub, it was a water tower. And how would it being made of plastic made any difference? TV_on_the_Porch 08-19-2014, 07:55 AM At long last . . . I think I'm finally beginning to feel Sol's pain: this thread simply doesn't need to exist. Bonniegirl 08-21-2014, 02:05 PM If only that tub they're all in were made of plastic. Do you mean like clear plastic, so you could see through it? Naughty, Naughty!!!! :D TV Knowledge Fan 08-21-2014, 03:42 PM ....I'm quite sure Paul Henning wanted to give the illusion that the Bradley sisters (and later, the dog) were swimming naked in the water tower....when, in fact, they weren't. The CBS "Standards and Practices" rep, I'm sure, saw to it they didn't. :tv: treky 08-21-2014, 05:29 PM finally, someone knew I was kidding! OF COURSE they weren't naked:lol: (in fact I think I read somewhere that that was actually a combination of 3 different shots) Hazel Anyday 08-21-2014, 06:33 PM Why, of course. Looks like you were the only one to get it. I meant clear (as in see-through) plastic. An acrylic water tower especially constructed for frisky girls to bathe in. Just what every town needs. I'd even volunteer to shine it as long as it was occupied.;) biffbronson 08-21-2014, 08:00 PM At other times in the series, we do see inside -- like when the girls are teaching infant Kathy Jo how to swim -- and they are wearing swimsuits. I wanted also to mention that this water is for the Cannonball's steam -- and is NOT drinking water for Hooterville, as some internet people maliciously claim. As long as we're talking about the opening scene, with the petticoats hanging on the rim, obviously there were multiple versions as the cast changed. Here's a rundown: Seasons 1-2: Linda, Jeannine, and Pat (black & white) Season 3 only: Linda, Lori, and Gunilla Seasons 4-7: Linda, Lori, and Meredith If you look closely at the final Seasons 4-7 opening, you will see that it's Gunilla walking down clothed after the girls take a dip -- not Meredith as it should be. The producers didn't bother to re-film that long shot (they simply reused the Season 3 segment). Hazel Anyday 08-21-2014, 08:23 PM I noticed that too, that it's Gunilla frolicking down the hill with her sisters, not Meredith. Gun had bushier curlier hair. Bonniegirl 08-21-2014, 11:59 PM Why, of course. Looks like you were the only one to get it. I meant clear (as in see-through) plastic. An acrylic water tower especially constructed for frisky girls to bathe in. Just what every town needs. I'd even volunteer to shine it as long as it was occupied.;) Yep!! I thought so!!!! :D  ;) OK , how about a female point of view here??? I'd like to see Steve and Orrin , Betty Jo's hubby and Bobbie Jo's boyfriend swimming naked!!! But maybe not together! OMG In the 1960's in a small southern town, two guys who weren't brothers swimming together naked wouldn't go over too big!! :D  Steve was nice looking and Orrin wasn't bad,:happyface OK I will calm down now!!!! :D  Hazel Anyday 08-22-2014, 11:06 PM You just ruined my water tower fantasy. So I'll get even, how about Uncle Joe and Floyd (the train conductor) splashing about in the buff. That oughta keep folks out of Hootersville. Bonniegirl 08-22-2014, 11:42 PM You just ruined my water tower fantasy. So I'll get even, how about Uncle Joe and Floyd (the train conductor) splashing about in the buff. That oughta keep folks out of Hootersville. OH NO!!!! Not uncle Joe naked!!!!! EWWW!!!!!!! Besides him and Floyd, how about adding Charlie and Mr. Drucker??? NOOOOO !!!!!! OK we are even now! :p  I was being a bit goofy when I posted that the other night. :D IN reality girls are different, we don't get a kick out of watching men completely naked, even if they are really hot! If we aren't with them in a relationship and unless we can be naked with them, we don't really need to see EVERYTHING, we like to keep things to the imagination more! ;) Bonniegirl 08-22-2014, 11:45 PM OK , I'm totally being goofy now, but how would you guys feel about Selma Plout swimming naked????? biffbronson 08-24-2014, 12:58 AM I'm not sure I buy that explanation of nakedness re: men (although it's a personal thing). When I was doing some research on Route 66, it seemed like there was a lot of excitement among female internet users over nude photos of George Maharis. Then again Playgirl has never had the kind of circulation Playboy has enjoyed... Then again Playgirl has never had the kind of circulation Playboy has enjoyed... I just google pictures of George Maharis, he was good looking back in the day! I remember when Burt Reynolds did the centerfold for Cosmopolitan mag. in the early 70's. I was a little girl, but I totally remember my Mom buzzing about it! LOL! She LOVED Burt Reynolds! ;) biffbronson 08-24-2014, 03:33 PM The teacher I had in the 1st & 2nd grades was hot for former Orioles pitcher Jim Palmer, who used to do all of those Jockey underwear ads. You can bet she went and got his autograph when she had the chance...! Getting back to Petticoat Junction, it's widely acknowleged that Mike Minor ("Steve Elliot") had a first-class backside. When he appeared in what proved to be the final eps of The Beverly Hillbillies, he had a mustache, sideburns, and longer hair. I have no idea if that look found favor with anyone...! The Shady Rest site administrator was going to find out if he was wearing a wig, but I don't think she's received an answer from Mike. Gregg Fedderson who played Cissy's boyfriend Gregg on Family affair was Mike Minor's brother. I LOVED Gregg!! :happyface Mike's last name was actually Fedderson. They were the TV producer Don Fedderson's sons. ;) I will have to make a point of checking out Steve's butt when the fourth season of PJ rolls around again and Mike Minor debuts!;) It was the fourth season right? I think Mike came on the same season as Meredith. Speaking of the girls swimming in the water tower. That is why Steve crashed his plane, looking at them swimming!! biffbronson 08-25-2014, 12:07 AM Yes -- Mike's start was in the 2nd ep of Season 4 of Petticoat Junction. Lori Saunders also found some work later on The Beverly Hillbillies as well as Mike, as one of the Commerce Bank secretaries. She looked totally hot, with her bangs grown out, and had at least one significant scene with Charles Lane ("Homer Bedlow" of PJ). Here is Mike in a final-season Beverly Hillbillies scene from the year following the cancellation of PJ, with Charles Lane: http://img2.tvtome.com/i/tve/em/73006.jpg Small photo but you can see that his look was totally different. It may have just been the lighting, but I thought both Mike and Lori had lighter-looking hair colors on BH. GrtGzu 08-25-2014, 10:00 AM OK , I'm totally being goofy now, but how would you guys feel about Selma Plout swimming naked????? GAAAAAAAAHH!! MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!! OH THE HORROR... MY EYES!!!! OH THE HORROR... How about her daughter Henrietta? :D Hazel Anyday 08-25-2014, 08:22 PM Henrietta actually had a pretty hot little body, they just uglied her up for the role. The same way they take an actually good looking girl, put glasses on her, put her hair up and dress her in baggy clothes and bad make up and wa la, you've got the typical sitcom "ugly girl". The gal who played Henrietta also played Gidget's girlfriend, Larue. In spite of efforts to dumb down her looks, you could see a sweet body and a good face with a little re-vamping. As far as Steve goes, I remember he also appears in My 3 Sons (both the early b/w years (looking like he did in P. Junction) and in the final years of the 3 Sons with longer hair & I think a mustache. I didn't know though that he was a Fedderson prodigy, no wonder he got so much work. Same story with Jack Bannon who often had small roles in P. Junction, Bev. Hillbillies, Mannix, and finally a bigger role in Lou Grant, Bannon was the son of Bea Benaderet. Wow I didn't know Henrietta was played by the girl who was LaRue on Gidget! With those big glasses she was unrecognizable! You are so right about all the homely and plain Jane girls wore glasses in the sitcoms back than. And really BIG glasses. Almost like men's glasses. No girl would look good in them. And frumpy clothes , the whole bit. There should have been an ep where one of the Bradley girls does a make over on Henrietta. Like Marcia Brady did the makeover on Molly Webber (another one with big glasses) and Ginger on Gilligan's island did such a good makeover on Eva Grubb that she turned out looking just like Ginger! :D  They both ended up backstabbing Marcia and Ginger though! :( biffbronson 09-16-2014, 12:53 AM I once emailed the lady who played Molly on The Brady Bunch and she sent me a thoughtful reply...! Really nice lady. I can't remember the specifics, but I seem to recall Henrietta getting a makeover courtesy of the Bradley sisters on one of the later episodes of PJ. Something about her coming down the stairway, no glasses, with a potential suitor(s) in the lobby... ? Very cool , that the actress who played Molly Emailed you! ;) I'm trying to remember an ep where Henrietta gets a makeover. It's fuzzy but I do kind of remember something like that! :) An ep that was funny with Henrietta was from season 4, Meredith's first season. In the lobby of the Shady Rest , at the Every other Wednesday afternoon ladies discussion club, Billie Jo and Henrietta in a who's the better secretary contest! ;) |
