View Full Version : Men as Weak as Cliff is to Claire regret it very early in the Marriage.

There's never been a doubt that the reason Cliff won the affections of Claire is because he was always a compromising and
non-threatening character to her. His repeated submissions to her moody bossiness is nothing short of legendary. I suppose
he didn't have any other way to capture either her heart or her attention, but I personally would never recommend a man
bending down as low or as often as Cliff did to Claire's daily demands.

I loved the show but the male bashing was a bit much and became too much over time. The men being pregnant episode was it for me. I watch the first five minutes before I turned the channel.

Cleverfun3000, I disagree with you. So you're saying if Bill was rude to Phylicia often that he would've been a real man? LOL. The reason their marriage worked is because he was a good father and he didn't argue with her often and he didn't beat his kids when he disciplined them. A lot of black couples argue often and sometimes black men beat up black women and that's why a lot of black marriages don't last. Bill was a good father because he showed that you don't have to argue with your wife often and you don't have to beat her and you don't have to beat your kids when they do something wrong.

A lot of black fathers beat their kids and that's part of the reason why my dad and I have never gotten along because he beat me several times when I was young. My dad also yells and curses at me when I make him mad and that's another reason I don't like him. He also yells and curses at my mom and my mom was almost close to leaving him several weeks ago because she said she's had enough of arguing with him. They've been married for 38 years and I don't see how my mom has been with him this long because most black women would've left my dad a long time ago.

R&B music legends Marvin Gaye(RIP)and Michael Jackson(RIP)didn't like their dads because their dads beat them when they were kids. It's sad that Marvin's dad killed him and I'm glad Marvin's dad is dead. I just read a recent article about Michael's dad Joe and the article said that he's had a couple of strokes lately and Janet was his only kid that came to visit him when he was in the hospital. His kids don't visit him often and they don't talk to him. Latoya said that Joe slept with her a couple of times when she was young and Rebbie said that Joe touched her inappropriately when she was young. His wife Katherine doesn't live with him anymore. I'm not surprised that Joe's family doesn't want anything to do with him because he was very mean to them when they were kids and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't come to his funeral.

Yeah i noticed that on Good Times and that's good. Black parents don't need to argue when they have a problem with each other and that's what most black parents do because they act like they don't know other alternatives to avoid a argument. Even though John Amos was a strong and strict man on Good Times, he didn't argue with Esther Rolle that much and that's the way it should be. When John would get mad at his kids, he would threaten them with spanking them with his belt and they would apologize to him for doing something wrong because they were scared of getting beaten. They know a belt hurts and that's why they didn't do bad things often. So to the people who think Bill Cosby was soft towards his wife and his kids on The Cosby Show, who cares what you think because black men that have a wife or girlfriend and kids doesn't need to argue with his wife or girlfriend and kids and beat his kids and wife or girlfriend to be a strong man. I like Bill's character on his show and he wasn't soft. He was a good man and a good father and it's sad that most black men aren't like him. Bill gave some advice to black parents in his Come On People book letting them know that they don't need to beat their kids to discipline them and i agree. He also said that black men shouldn't beat black women and i agree.
