Actually, Henry was mentioned in the episode, "Uncle George and Aunt Louise." In the episode, George's nephew, Raymond, played by Gary Coleman, was said to be the son of George's brother Henry.

The actor who portrayed Henry Jefferson, Mel Stewart, passed away on February 24th of this year at the age of 72.
I never knew the story regarding Henry Jefferson. He appeared in a number of episodes of "All in The Family" along with Isabel Sanford. It was always assumed that Henry was Louise Jefferson's husband. However, when they did the episode to set up the spinoff of "The Jeffersons", it was revealed that Louise was married to George, and Henry was George's brother. (at least I think that's the way it was presented in that episode).
Does anyone know the reason why they chose to do it that way? Why wasn't Mel Stewart kept on, instead of bringing in Sherman Helmsley?

Henry was pretending to be Louise's husband, because her real husband George didn't want anything to do with the Bunkers. So instead of Louise just telling the truth, she used her brother in-law in replace of George.
