Does anyone remember this case? It's a shame it wasn't included in the Ghosts Box set released on DVD about ten years back or so. The case is about a haunted house in Reno Nevada that was moved from Virgina City. It's probably one of the most disturbing haunted stories that was profiled on Unsolved Mysteries other than the Tallman's Ghost case. I wish I could view it once more, but it seems like it was taken off YouTube a long time ago, which is the last time I remember seeing it.

Anyways, here are the details on the case.

I distinctly remember the husband from the Kelsey family saying he'd love to see the house burned to the ground. I looked for the house on Google Maps and it's still there, although it looks broken down and doesn't appear to have been worked on for years. Might as well just burn the thing down.

I used to be scared by the photo of the ghost "Samuel." In retrospect, I now think the picture is an accident or a hoax.

Actually the pic on Google is pretty old. It was leveled back in 2011 is memory serves. Ironically it was a stone throw away from my ex's job.

Cool. Good riddance I say.

I always wondered how back in the late 1800's a house was actually "moved" from Virginia City to Reno.

I'm confused because that doesn't look like the house featured in the segment...

...unless we only saw the back of it...

Maybe they used a different house for the segment. If I recall, two families were interviewed, but none lived in the house at the time.

If that picture on Google s accurate, there is no way that could be the same house unless it had extensive remodeling done after the segment was filmed. Look at the roof in both photos. There is really no way that could match from any angle.

Technically, it isn't even in Reno. It's about 20 minutes down the hill from Virginia City. About halfway between the two cities. Even about 10 years ago it was in the middle of nowhere. Only recently it has been built up significantly.

I did some reading around online and apparently this house you're talking about that was torn down is not the Kelsay house. I knew something didn't add up when that house in Reno on Google Maps didn't look anything like what was shown in the UM segment.

The information provided in the YouTube video (claiming to be the Kelsay house) was updated in 2012, shortly after this house was torn down. There were some ghost chasers that checked it out and were obsessed with it beforehand but it was nothing more than an old abandoned property and it was eventually discovered this wasn't the Kelsay house. Confusion arose because the two properties were often mistaken for each other for quite some time amongst the ghost hunting community according to a commenter who lives around the area.

The actual Kelsay house featured on UM is located on Fish Springs Road, which is on the outskirts of Minden and is apparently in pretty good shape. There's also people living there according to the person on the forbidden site. The address number shown in the segment is 1732 but I'm having trouble finding it on Google Maps.

Nice!

Yeah, looking at the homes along that road, most appear to be in way better shape than most.

Actually, it is possible the house could have been razed as the one at the address is way bigger.

I got the address to show up on google maps, but no street view is available. My guess is that area is still using outhouses and oil lamps as it looks like nothing is around there lol. So the google picture truck probably hasn't rolled through there as of yet.

I think I found it. I read somewhere that the name of the street it was on was changed to "Bobwhite". If this is it, it's been extensively worked on.
