Has anybody suggested throwing in the four episodes of "Checking In" as a bonus? If they can include the entire first season of "Fish" in the "Barney Miller" set, surely they can include that.

If you average it out to about $30 per season, you'd be paying $150 for the remaining 5 seasons...so, if you think about it, it's like you're buying seasons 7-11 and getting seasons 1-6 free.

You're exactly right! $160 plus tax = $174/5 remaining seasons = $34.80 each approx. which is about what I paid for each of the first 6 seasons. But in this case it's $174/11 = $15.81 for each season. Good deal in my book!!

just to note, lately I've seen on pre-orders if you order directly from Shout! they ship a few weeks early, not sure if that's the case here, but if you absolutely cannot wait for George & Weezy, might want to wait for the Shout! pre-order page to come up and see if the early shipping is in effect.

I see I shouldn't have bought that Mill Creek release back in May. I will probably either sell that or give it to Salvation Army then buy the complete series set. But on Facebook, Tvshowsondvd did respond to some comments and said that Shout would be releasing Seasons 7-11 individually as well for people who already have 1-6.

If you're at an apartment your mailbox probably isn't. If you have any nearby relatives who have a house or something maybe they can accept the package for you and then you go pick it up there.

If you have a house, as far as I know if you're not at home, they just leave it on the porch or something. If you have bushes they might hide it behind the bushes.

It's called the dee-luxe edition which normally means we must be getting much more than just all 11 seasons. Hopefully what i said a few posts above plus special features like featurettes and perhaps audio commentaries by the few surviving cast members.

I haven't paid $30 for a season set of any show for quite awhile. If there are any extras I might consider it. Then the problem becomes how to get rid of the season 1-6 sets because they will become for all intents and purposes worthless.

It says that it's a 33-DVD set. 3 discs per season, except season one was a 2 disc set when it was released so the 11 seasons are on 32 discs with an extra bonus disc, like the All in the Family complete series set.

I think the packaging is probably going to be six keepcases. One for seasons 1+2, one for seasons 3+4, one for seasons 5+6, one for seasons 7+8, one for seasons 9+10 and one for season 11. They might put the bonus disc in the season 11 case instead of putting it in a slim case. That's what they did for the All in the Family complete series set. They put the bonus disc in the season 9 case for that show.

I bought season 2 to 6. I have no problem paying for the whole series. I would only have been pissed if season 7 to 11 was released seperately over a span of 2 years and then the the whole series came out on DVD

The reason I think these Complete Series are coming out so often this year is because the powers that be began to realize selling individual seasons of DVDs wasn't going to be as profitable as they thought, hence the reason so many incomplete series are on DVD.

However they wisely realized diehard fans would be willing to pay money for a complete set.

The people complaining Season 7 through 11 never came out misunderstand....it's either this complete series or nothing, because if sales were so robust in the first 6 seasons in the first place we would have seen 7 through 11 back in 2007.

Therefore let's be grateful they've decided to market complete series sets. If you love the show so much, pay it gladly and recognize this is the best it's going to get.

No mention of Checking in was included in the set. I am content with the series being complete on DVD. All the other stuff can come later lol

Marla Gibbs is about the only one left that I could see doing anything like that here. Berlinda Tolbert might but I wouldn't bet on it. I highly doubt Damon Evans or Jay Hammer would provide anything here. Pretty much everyone else is gone.

To me, it doesn't seem like the poster was complaining. They were just stating a fact that it seems weird to include episode 3 and not the first episode.

It's killing me so much knowing that my set of "The Jeffersons" and Blu-ray "Batman" are sitting at home and I'm stuck at work. Only an hour and a half to go......can't wait to get home!

Well it's been a change of plans, christmas gifts has stopped me from ordering the DVD.

I see it's now available on Amazon.ca in Canada for just $122. I may order it from there because that seems to be the cheapest. And yes, your existing Amazon account and login works there.

Amazon Canada has now raised the price back up to the normal one so I blew my chance on that good offer.

I recently watched the episode of "Checking In" and I can now see why this series was canceled after only 4 episodes. It lacked everything; the supporting cast was horrible and the jokes were lame. I'm so glad that it failed so that Marla Gibbs was able to come back to "The Jeffersons". Honestly, I couldn't imagine Florence not being the Jeffersons' maid. She brought so much to the show---it was just meant to be for "Checking In" to fail.

I noticed a mistake on the back of the seasons 7 & 8 DVD case. It has the airdate for the season 8 episode "Florence Did It Better, Pt. 2" listed as 1/08/1980 and it should be 11/08/1981.

I just got the set, and I signed up to these forums to confirm that the Season 4 special George and Louise in a Bind is the uncut version. It is on the set as a single episode (unlike the previous DVD) and a run time of an hour and something-teen minutes.
