I mean clearly not in financial terms.

But on "8 Simple Rules" it was clear she was the goofball of the show and she was given most of the funny lines and showed some great comedic chops. She was the Sheldon of that show in a way. On TBBT she's really mostly eye candy while most of the other people get all the funny lines.

So in a way her talents are being-underutilized on TBBT.

Her job on TBBT is a bit more standard fare for a woman on a sitcom than her role was on "8 Simple Rules" if you ask me.

What do you think?

I think the main actors of this show are EXTREMELY LUCKY to get this show and have it to be such a monster hit. Especially for the roles of Wolowitz and Truthipalli (sic) it came down to two or three actors, the actors who got the roles are millionaires while the other ones are waiting tables somewhere.

If I were her, I would make my money from this show and basically retire. But that is just me. Some people are addicted to the rich and famous lifestyle, and even with people making $10 million a year spend $11 million so they have to make it up somewhere.

You asked? I love Kaley since "8 simple" where she was booked to be eye candy wearing crop tops and having male callers getting the door slammed in their face in each opening title.

After John's untimely awful death, the show tried but died with John......then Kaley went for a brief stint on "Charmed".....nothing.....

I have the BBT pilot without Kaley, it is awful, same script.....why this isn't a DVD extra baffles me.

Again I am a fan of BBT since the first promo, the cast is perfect and for awhile she loved being the only girl in the cast basically......

just look at all the dvd covers above, as a male, where do your eyes go first naturally? It is all about the written word on the page, which she delivers, but she would I believe even herself admit to always first being booked as "eye candy". In TV interviews she practically appears as the "Penny" character and never has talked or expressed desire for dramatic work.

Her recent quote about "the best thing she ever did was get breast implants after 8 simple ended as then her career took off".......now she has bobbleheads, boardgames, and is a household name........

The first role I ever saw her in was playing Marcia Brady in the 2000 NBC TV Movie "Growing Up Brady". Available on DVD.

now what was your question? lol

I thought she has some good lines that are funny especially when she goes toe to toe with Sheldon.

She's alright I guess, I mean she doesn't have that many years of acting to be considered a comic genius but she gets by I guess. But reality is for most of the cast this might be their one great big chance at recognition that each actor decides to pursue other projects might not be so lucky.

She and Jim Parsons have great chemistry. That was clear almost from the first episode. And I think she gets her share of good lines, she's knows how to push Sheldon;s buttons and she does almost gleefully sometimes. I love the episode where the guys are on the train and Sheldon needs her to get his flash drive from his room and she finds out his meemaw calls him Moonpie. She thinks it's adorable and cute and loving, but he doesn't get it.

Yeah, I think Penny and Sheldon will go down as one of the great comic pairs. I think Kaley Cuoco is a very good comic actress, and gets plenty of chance to show it, for instance the one where she's "banished" and the one where she takes up online games. She should also get credit for a spit take that would make Danny Thomas proud.
She's not the funniest person on this show, though. Sheldon is.

She was the funniest person on 8 Simple Rules, even with John Ritter getting his share of laughs.

That's why I consider The Big Bang Theory a step back for her talent-wise, even if her bank account is getting padded up nicely.

Is Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting expendable? I mean, the most expendable of all the main castmembers of The Big Bang Theory? She could get pregnant at anytime now that she is married in real life. And she already missed two episodes during the fourth season due to a horse-riding accident.

Kaley is arguably not really a good actress (from a range standpoint) to begin with. What I mean is that you can argue that Kaley's been pretty much playing herself in just about every notable role if you watch her in interviews, that's just her persona.
