In the first episode I believe when they move into the apartment George says they have $47,000. Boy $47,000 sure could go a long way in 1975.....

I would have thought George would have had more money than $47 Grand stocked up, but I'm sure most Americans didn't have that kind of money in savings in 1975 anyhow....

Still, I would have thought George to be richer.

It's the pilot ep of All In the Family because Edith made an appearance at the beginning and it was the All In the Family music in the credit roll.

Oh yeah, I remember now when they are still in their kitchen at their old house and he said.......

Louise said...."we are just plain folks" and George said "That was $47,000 ago.

So his financial situation wasn't mention only that he is making $47,000 more

I guess that means living on Hauser, they were moderately income.
