Freddie Glenn, the man who raped and murdered actor Kelsey Grammer's sister in 1975, was up for parole this week. However, the Colorado parole board denied Glenn's request for release, but he will be eligible for parole again in three years.

On July 1, 1975, Karen Elisa Grammer was raped and murdered after Freddie Glenn and two accomplices abducted her from a Colorado Springs restaurant where she was employed. Glenn was 18 years old at the time and committed two other murders the previous month.

Although Kelsey Grammer forgave Glenn, he said in no uncertain terms that could not endorse Glenn's release because doing so would be a "betrayal of my sister's life."

I'm glad he'll remain in prison. Though I'm not particularly a fan of Kelsey's acting work and some of the things he's done, he did have a very difficult young life and I feel sorry for a lot of the hardships he went through.

True. Kelsey Grammer's father was murdered by a deranged man in 1968; his two half-brothers died in a scuba diving mishap in 1980 (one of them is suspected to have been eaten by a shark); and his friend, Frasier creator David Angell was killed on 9/11, when the plane he was in crashed into one of the Twin Towers. :(

Like you, I'm glad to hear that Freddie Glenn was denied parole. Considering the fact that he murdered three people, the only parole he should be granted is a posthumous one.
