CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Let the trade deadline wheeling and dealing commence.

The Indians are sending pitcher Justin Masterson to the St. Louis Cardinals, sources confirmed to cleveland.com. In return, Cleveland will receive minor league outfielder James Ramsey, the Cardinals' first-round draft choice in 2012.

Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com first reported the deal.

Masterson was scheduled to return from the disabled list and pitch for the Tribe on Friday. He made his second rehab start for Triple-A Columbus last Friday, and he allowed five runs on four hits and six walks over 6 2/3 innings. He has posted a 5.51 ERA for the Tribe this season, his last before he can become a free agent.

Masterson was an All-Star in 2013, when he finished the year with a 14-10 record and 3.45 ERA.

He said Tuesday he wasn't worried about the possibility of being traded, since he has been dealt at the deadline before. In 2009, the Indians acquired the right-hander from the Red Sox in a deal that sent Victor Martinez to Boston.

Ramsey, 24, was batting .300 with a .916 OPS, 13 home runs and 36 RBIs in 67 games for Double-A Springfield. Ramsey will report to Triple-A Columbus.

Looks like Francona may be in for another year and go and we might as well be known as The Cleveland Idiots rather than The Cleveland Indians!

Indians won last night, but I'm STILL skeptical with that franchise right now since that trade.
