I am new here to these forums, so I don't want to be disagreeable!!! BUT!!! With that said, Florida is JJ's Mom, food is comfort!!!;) Especially if they had pie, being they were poor, they probably didn't have snacks and baked goods every day! My Mom always had cookies or something like that for my siblings and myself after a long day at school, and to this day, I am a 'comfort eater". If sad, or things go bad, something yummy to eat is comforting. ;) Luckily I was able to burn off calories and not get big in my younger years, now I gotta watch the 'comfort eating" for weight gain and cholesteral and all that!!! :( Florida probably thinks like me, her son was down and lost his job and a nice piece of pie was tasty and comforting! :)

The initial shock of losing your job has to wear off first before you can enjoy a slice of pie lol


It would have sounded better to say......."I know you dont feel like eating right but if u change your mind it's a pie in the fridge"
