VH1 Renews "Hit the Floor" for Third Season
7/29/14
by Lesley Goldberg

VH1 is sticking with "Hit the Floor". The Viacom-owned cable network announced late Monday has renewed the scripted drama about a fictional L.A. basketball team and its players, dancers and ownership.

Season three will return in May 2015 with 10 episodes, down two from its second season of 12 but on par with its freshman run.

The network noted in its renewal announcement that the series ranks as the No. 1 scripted drama on basic cable among women 18-49, and ranked among the top 10 most social shows on Mondays on Twitter.

"Hit the Floor delivered again with fantastic ratings and social media engagement in season two, especially among women," said Susan Levison, exec vp original programming and production at VH1. "We look forward to seeing what kind of trouble the Devil Girls will get into next season."

"Hit the Floor" Canceled at BET after 4 Seasons
by Nellie Andreeva
December 7, 2018

BET Networks has opted not to renew its scripted series "Hit the Floor" for a fifth season. The show, created and executive produced by James LaRosa, moved to BET after three seasons on its original network, VH1.

The decision comes three months after "Hit the Floor", which follows the Devil Girls, the premier professional dance squad for the Los Angeles Devils basketball team, wrapped its eight-episode Season 4 run on BET.

“At this time, BET Networks will not be moving forward with a fifth season of Hit The Floor,” the company said in a statement.

“We are grateful to the most passionate fans ever who helped to bring one more season of the #DevilsNation to the screen, and the incredible cast and dancers. We would especially like to thank and recognize the acclaimed Executive Producer and Creator of the series James LaRosa for his passion and vision. We look forward to finding ways to continue in partnership.”
