I'm not sure if this was posted before, but it's a very good read about how the series finale of St. Elsewhere (where it's revealed that the TV show is all in the mind of an autistic kid) arguably ruined television as a whole.

Basically, the conclusion is that since so many different shows (with their own spin-offs) apparently existed in the same universe as a result of the crossover episodes, they were also all in the imagination of Tommy Westphill.

The hands-down stupidest plot twist ever. An insult to autistic people like me (for the record, I am partially autistic).

Could they have come up with an even lamer plot twist than that?

Thanks. It's a very interesting article. I never watched St. elsewhere until syndication and unfortunately my local channel took it off before the final. It was a great show but as a fan of Dallas I can understand the backlash. Newhart was sort of the same way although most thought that final ( which ended up being a dream of Bob Hartley his character from The Bob Newhart Show) was brilliant.

It's also got the worst logo into history: the famed MTM cat dying!
Here it is if you can stomach it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCSszVNqwh0)
