Portia de Rossi‘s career has been rocked by "Scandal".

The "Arrested Development" star is joining the ABC smash’s upcoming fourth season for multiple episodes, TVLine has confirmed.



News of the casting was announced Wednesday on Twitter by the actress’ wife Ellen DeGeneres.

"So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on 'Scandal'. Oops."

Portia de Rossi Bumped To Series Regular for "Scandal's" Next Season

Following the events of the season finale (we’ll avoid spoiling them here), Portia de Rossi has been promoted to series regular for the 2015-16 season of ABC’s "Scandal", the actress has confirmed today.

On Twitter, she thanked the network and show, saying “Thank you @ScandalABC I can’t wait to start season 5!!”



de Rossi joined "Scandal" in a recurring role during the 2014-15 season, playing Elizabeth North, the scheming chair of the Republican National Committee .

Over the course of the season, North becomes First Lady Mellie Grant’s campaign chairperson during Grant’s run for the US Senate.
