Mill Creek is re-releasing the first six seasons of The Jeffersons on DVD. I read somewhere that if they sell well, Sony may be able to license seasons 7-11 for them to be released on DVD.

re-releasing 6 seasons that didn't generate lots of sales. Makes no sense

Yeah, but the lower prices could attract more people who didn't buy the original sets. Maybe Mill Creek's standards for sets that sell well are lower than Sony's.

I think the only thing here that makes sense would be a Complete Series set. I'm sure that would upset a few people but realistically, I'm guessing it's hard to make $ on seasons 7 and beyond. So, you put out a complete series set, a few folks who never bought the S1-6 will buy it, but mostly - whoever bought S1-6 prior will be forced to double dip and then the studio/distributor makes the $ to support it. Then, once it's been out for a while you can put out the individual seasons since you've already made your profit. I know I wouldn't want to wait a year to get S7 even if I'm buying all that other stuff I already got.

Not saying I necessarily like it but I understand it.

And I am still mad that another season wasn't released when Sherman died

Yeah, that was ridiculous. You'd think that Sony would've taken a chance on another DVD set in respect of the actor's death. I'm sure stars like having their shows on DVD as well.

Yeah, saw the news. And they just announced last week (or the week before) that the Facts of Life the Complete series is also coming out on DVD. First Welcome Back, Kotter, then Batman, then Facts of Life, and now the Jeffersons! Oh boy! :yippee:

Yeah, it's been a wonderful year. Would be perfect if the complete series of Happy Days comes out on DVD too.
