Not to worry! Before Me-TV went national, Saved by the Bell aired on Me-TV in Chicago. It was used to fulfill the educational programming requirements all channels need to reach. Perhaps, it will replace Edgemont on Sat and Sunday mornings! You can find old Children's Television Programming reports from 2010 online, where Me-TV had to present their educational programs to the FCC. Saved by the Bell was described as such: "The educational objective of SAVED BY THE BELL is to provide teenagers with information on dealing with interpersonal communications and conflict resolutions among classmates. The cast provides role models for viewers who may be struggling with problems common to teenagers such as conflict with school and family rules, authority figures, issues of fairness, peer pressure and the crisis of confidence." It is possible this may not even air in all markets. LTCProductions 07-21-2014, 04:56 PM Not to worry! Before Me-TV went national, Saved by the Bell aired on Me-TV in Chicago. Some of the programs listed (F Troop, Perry Mason TV movies, Rawhide, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Love Boat, Wanted: Dead or Alive, and Welcome Back, Kotter) debuted either last fall or earlier this year. No voice overs on the credits, often times playing unedited episodes. At least I can say, they will treat The Andy Griffith Show with respect, even though I won't watch it. When watching anything on TV Land, they treat you with an overdose of advertising. A 22 minute edit of a show being shown in a 35-40 minute timeslot??? Outrageous!! MeTV’s New Season Welcomes Home Andy Griffith, CHiPs, Cheers, Superman and Many Other Classic Television Shows. Andy Griffith is coming this September to America’s #1 All Classic Television Network. Andy and the rest of the gang from Mayberry lead MeTV’s 2014/15 season of fresh classic programs and returning favorites. The new season brings updated programming to weekday mornings, middays, afternoons, early fringe, primetime, late fringe and Saturdays and Sundays. The schedule is programmed for viewer retention around strategic theme blocks and highly promotable franchises, all designed to build on ratings momentum and appeal to local advertisers. “The Andy Griffith Show”, one of the most iconic and beloved television series of all time, premieres on MeTV Monday, September 1st. Leading MeTV’s new weeknight primetime lineup of timeless comedy, Andy Griffith is a truly significant addition to the MeTV schedule. Built on multi-generational appeal with well-written characters including Sherriff Andy Taylor, Opie, Aunt Bee, and the hilarious Barney Fife, “The Andy Griffith Show” will air weeknights from 8- 9pm ET/PT. Availability of “The Andy Griffith Show” varies by market. Your MeTV Affiliate Relations Representative will contact you under separate cover if “Mayberry R.F.D.” (8-9pm ET/PT) is part of the programming lineup for your market. Revving up and riding home in early fringe is everyone’s favorite California Highway Patrolmen, Ponch and Jon, as “CHiPs” joins the schedule weeknights at 6pm ET/PT. Following “Adam-12 “ and “Emergency”, “CHiPs” anchors a new block of exciting 70’s era action series and combines drama, a touch of comedy and the broad appeal to lead into our prime access hit “M*A*S*H” at 7pm ET/PT. In late fringe, the award-winning viewer favorite “Cheers” returns to MeTV. A proven performer, “Cheers” is the perfect entertainment program and comedy alternative to late local news. Take a seat alongside Sam, Diane, Carla, Cliff and Norm when “Cheers” returns weeknights at 11pm ET/PT. Other important changes include the return of “Perry Mason” to his familiar time slot weekday mornings at 10am ET/PT. “Perry Mason” joins a full-hour of “Dragnet” and “The Rockford Files” as part of the mid-morning crime and drama block. “The Rifleman” moves to 3-4pm ET/PT where it will anchor our proven and promotable weekday westerns franchise that includes “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza”. The castaways from “Gilligan’s Island” can now be found weeknights at 9:30pm ET/PT behind the consistent comedy lead in of “Hogan’s Heroes”. There will be several fresh comedies added to weeknight mix in the 10- 11pm ET/PT time slot with “The Bob Newhart Show” on Monday nights, “Taxi” on Tuesday nights and “Welcome Back, Kotter” on Thursday nights. Saturdays the Man of Steel teams up with the Caped Crusader and the Amazon Warrior Princess in a new and highly promotable block of classic super hero action. This trio of legends can be seen every Saturday night with “The Adventures of Superman” at 6pm ET/PT, followed by “Batman” at 7pm ET/PT and “Wonder Woman” at 8pm ET/PT. Sunday mornings get a young demo jump-start with the premiere of “Saved by the Bell” on MeTV. Programmed as a two hour weekend morning event, “Saved by the Bell” premieres on October 5th from 10am-12pm ET/PT and will be valuable companion to Sunday’s “The Brady Bunch” brunch franchise. Sundays see the return of “The Rockford Files” and “Hawaii 5-0” to the afternoon action and drama block, with “Black Sheep Squadron” now taking to the skies Sundays at 7pm ET/PT, followed by the all-time who-dun-it classic “Columbo”. At 10pm ET/PT “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” teams up with “Mission Impossible” and back-to-back episodes of “Get Smart”. This Fall, home is where you will find Me and America’s #1 All Classic Television Network. Please note that MeTV’s new Children’s E/I Block will premiere on October 4th and 5th aligning with the beginning of 4th quarter. TheLogoMan94 08-10-2014, 10:52 PM How did you find this? I haven't seen them on Cozi. For older shows, the aspect ratio was closer to a square than the rectangular shape we have with modern TV screens -- so the bars fill in the space you have when showing that shape in the rectangle. Most likely. I don't remember TV Land airing them. I've never seen Season 1 of Gillgan's Island in color that much. Maybe one or twice. I noticed that the prints looked older than the current prints current used on Me-TV. BigManMike 08-15-2014, 05:25 PM Now this I have to see. I hardly ever watch Gilligan's Island on MeTv since I have all the DVDs but I've never seen Season 1 in color before so this will be interesting. I only wish the color versions were available on the Season 1 DVDs along with the black and white ones. On Monday August 18th, Me-TV will unveil their fall schedule for 2014. great; I can't wait! I hope they're keeping THE FUGITIVE! (I e-mailed them and asked them but they never answered me) TVFactFan 08-16-2014, 04:53 PM with the addition of the Me-TV shows combined with the black bars on the side of the screen, there is absolutely no reason to watch this channel TheLogoMan94 08-18-2014, 01:24 PM Here is the official schedule from Me-TV for Fall 2014! http://metvnetwork.com/fall2014 TheLogoMan94 08-18-2014, 01:59 PM Thanks for telling me. I didn't know the schedule had its own forum. TheLogoMan94 10-17-2014, 01:17 AM On October 8, 2014, the CBS Syndication Bible was updated. There was some updates to other shows, but more importantly, Out Miss Brooks. It lists it as not having tape masters due to the series being shot on film (35mm?). It does list it, however, as seasons 1 & 2 being available for syndication (need confirmation). Season 3 & 4 are currently in a transfer prcess. Does this mean that Me-TV may be getting Our Miss Brooks? Maybe not, but I sure would love to see it on Me-TV. To my knowledge, I've not seen any restored prints of the show. Only old Viacom prints that were sourced from 16mm film. If Me-TV does acquire the show, they may get the old 16mm prints, like with The Millionaire. But that's just my opinion. They may get restored prints, but I have no knowledge of that. |
