The Andy Griffith Show is on ? Tvland. I have seen enough of the show so it can stay where it is. I did notice one day they ran the program for 45 minutes so there was tons of commercials. Tvland as we all know has gone a bit down hill so if Met TV or Cozi pick up better shows with less commercials I will stay with them.

Not to worry! Before Me-TV went national, Saved by the Bell aired on Me-TV in Chicago. It was used to fulfill the educational programming requirements all channels need to reach. Perhaps, it will replace Edgemont on Sat and Sunday mornings!

You can find old Children's Television Programming reports from 2010 online, where Me-TV had to present their educational programs to the FCC. Saved by the Bell was described as such:

"The educational objective of SAVED BY THE BELL is to provide teenagers with information on dealing with interpersonal communications and conflict resolutions among classmates. The cast provides role models for viewers who may be struggling with problems common to teenagers such as conflict with school and family rules, authority figures, issues of fairness, peer pressure and the crisis of confidence."

It is possible this may not even air in all markets.

I'm not interested in watching any show (like Andy Griffith) that's been in syndication on other networks over and over and over again. I wish they'd pick up a show like Benson or Trapper John MD. And of course, I wish they'd keep The Love Boat as well. Not sure if that's going to happen. :(

as I've said before, you can rest assure that ME TV and ANNTENA TV WILL NOT become like Nick at Nite and TV Land and will stay like they are now because they're digital sub-channels and not cable channels, so they're not under the same regulations as cable channels.

Last summer, MeTV had a page on their website (that was removed after only a couple of days) listing shows that would be coming soon to the network over the next few years (2013-2015). I agree...and Antenna TV or MeTV should get some rights to show Disney Shows like "Disneyland/Wonderful World of Color", "Zorro", "Spin and Marty", and MMC with Anette Funicello...or at least show them on Netflix or Hulu.

Grew up watching The Wonderful World of Color. Wish someone would show it. MeTV is so low powered in Nashville it's difficult for most people to pick up. All those different Disney Channels, and not one a classic channel.

That's what angers me about Disney...many channel, but no Vault Disney Channel...that should be the station that shows Disney Classics from 1923 to 1998! It can show all the Disney-owned shows and movies, even "Home Improvement" and "The Golden Girls".

I remember back in 2007 when Ion ran a lot of promos for Perfect Strangers coming to the schedule, and then yanked it after a handful of showings without any explanation. There must not be much of an audience for the show.

Both of those are currently airing on rival Antenna TV.

If I'm correct, All in the Family, Growing Pains, and Maude are on Antenna TV.

All in the family and Maude are, but Growing Pains is not. Last I saw it was on the ION network sometime in the 2005-2007 time frame. They also aired Mama's family, wonder years, among others until a management change in 2008 that turned the network into what it is today.

I wouldnt mind seeing shows that havent been on syndication in a while. Shows like:

Pretty sure last night I saw another preview of the Man from Uncle still coming ro ME-TV. Not Happy that Andy Griffith is coming to ME-TV. TV-LAND has been running it for awhile and it's just another long list of shows that gets bounced around and OVERPLAYED to the point of NOT enjoying it anymore.

The best thing about this is, at this point, Me-TV treats these shows very well. No voice overs on the credits, often times playing unedited episodes. At least I can say, they will treat The Andy Griffith Show with respect, even though I won't watch it.

When watching anything on TV Land, they treat you with an overdose of advertising. A 22 minute edit of a show being shown in a 35-40 minute timeslot??? Outrageous!!

I doubt a DVD release because according to the CBS Syndication Bible, the series has not been transferred into HD. They also say that there are no tape masters currently. Hopefully it comes to Me-TV or Netflix.

"Cheers" will be weeknights at 11pm/10c replacing "The Twilight Zone" starting 9/1 according to promo running on TV.

Oh. I see. So both programs I mentioned will be at their same times. Thanks for clarifying that, I would've had a lot of trouble studying the time difference of the programs.

I have a question about Happy Days. Can anyone tell me why when they went to the 8:30 time slot just skip around episodes? I mean they were all over the place, skipping around. One day Richie was in it, the next day Roger was in it w/o showing how he joined the cast.

Maybe it's getting removed in the Fall and they're trying to show as episodes as they can to finish off its run. That's probably all wrong, but that's my guess.

So I was looking at Me-TV Chicago (WCIU) and they have the old B&W Gunsmoke episodes (Marshal Dillon) on their schedule. I noticed that every single program aired on WCIU had aired on the national Me-TV schedule. The only program that hasn't is Marshal Dillon. Is there a possibility that Marshal Dillon could be coming to Me-TV in the future?

UPDATE: Whoops. I made a mistake. The schedule I looked at was from December 2010. What a mistake I made.

Antenna TV has bars on the left and right. I haven't seen them on Cozi.

For older shows, the aspect ratio was closer to a square than the rectangular shape we have with modern TV screens -- so the bars fill in the space you have when showing that shape in the rectangle.

MeTV has been doing selective speeding-up of parts of the openings of shows like Hogan's Heroes, Happy Days, and Gilligan's Island. It's very obvious to longtime fans, and pretty annoying too!

I'd rather have the black bars on the side than having the screen stretched out to fill the TV screen. I want to see people the way they're supposed to look, not like someone's been playing tug of war with their arms.

well, not me. I was annoyed at first with the slight "stretching out" on ME TV but you get used to it, along with the speeding up of some parts of shows that ME TV and ANTENNA TV do (it's mostly obvious during the opening narration of THE FUGITIVE and the closing of MR. ED) but they can be forgiven for that because they only edit their shows "as little as possible" (at least, ME TV does)

Most likely. I don't remember TV Land airing them. I've never seen Season 1 of Gillgan's Island in color that much. Maybe one or twice. I noticed that the prints looked older than the current prints current used on Me-TV.

Now this I have to see. I hardly ever watch Gilligan's Island on MeTv since I have all the DVDs but I've never seen Season 1 in color before so this will be interesting. I only wish the color versions were available on the Season 1 DVDs along with the black and white ones.

with the addition of the Me-TV shows combined with the black bars on the side of the screen, there is absolutely no reason to watch this channel

On October 8, 2014, the CBS Syndication Bible was updated. There was some updates to other shows, but more importantly, Out Miss Brooks. It lists it as not having tape masters due to the series being shot on film (35mm?). It does list it, however, as seasons 1 & 2 being available for syndication (need confirmation). Season 3 & 4 are currently in a transfer prcess. Does this mean that Me-TV may be getting Our Miss Brooks? Maybe not, but I sure would love to see it on Me-TV. To my knowledge, I've not seen any restored prints of the show. Only old Viacom prints that were sourced from 16mm film. If Me-TV does acquire the show, they may get the old 16mm prints, like with The Millionaire. But that's just my opinion. They may get restored prints, but I have no knowledge of that.
