CBS' "Mom" is bringing in a new challenge for Christy. "Jennifer Falls" star Jaime Pressly has booked a major recurring role on the sophomore comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Pressly will recur as a newly sober woman who at times is more than Christy (Anna Faris) can handle.

"We have a great storyline this year: They lose the house," executive producer Chuck Lorre tells THR.

"They stay at a motel for a while. They stay with Mimi Kennedy's Marjorie and the cats for a while. It's a struggle. Christy is trying to keep her family afloat and keep her daughter afloat after the adoption. Her daughter is not doing well emotionally. It's hard. And she's also trying to help Jamie Pressly's character, who is trying to get sober. She's a woman with a lot of money and not much else going on."

Lorre also confirmed that Kevin Pollak would return to reprise his role as Alvin, the boyfriend who abandoned Bonnie (Allison Janney) while she was in the hospital giving birth to Christy.

"Mom" returns for its second season on Monday, Sept. 29 at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.

"Mom" Bumps Jaime Pressly to Series Regular for Season 3

“Hi, my name is Jill” is a phrase "Mom" fans are likely to hear more often in Season 3: The CBS comedy has promoted guest-star Jaime Pressly to series regular when it returns in the fall.

Pressly's Jill is Christy's newly sober pal who's rich and a handful — which proves problematic when Christy tries to help her out (but awfully fun when she needs a housesitter).

The actress most recently starred in TV Land’s "Jennifer Falls", which was cancelled after one season.

Oh ... I didn't love her. The boyfriend is funny though!
