View Full Version : Woke up at 6.30 and guess what I did? ..
nikkispence1989 07-18-2014, 03:29 AM Before my eyes were even functioning I checked out the new U.com! I'm really pleased the way they have set every thing out and how cases have been updated.
Its like a total revamp =) What a transformation!
Hopefully with this work maybe there could be a possibility of some new episodes been made. Its a step forward in the right direction.
What do you guys think?

This pretty much confirms what I've been saying for awhile. If they ever wanted to get back into production, they'd be better off selling the franchise to a major network and keep CM as a consultant to the show.
What really doesn't make sense is how guild restrictions don't allow it to be shown on the forbidden site. I wonder what is stopping CM from making their own VOD's and uploading them to the site? All they would have to do is convert the segments into a flash style format.
Overall it's not bad. The archives are done very well and I can tell a lot of work was put into it. Even the synopsis for each case is fairly long and detailed, which is nice. I'm really curious as to how the user submitted cases feature works. One case is already up Lacey Gaines. Definitely going to have to visit the site daily now.
LETTERL 07-18-2014, 08:35 AM Impressive re-boot of the website. There has been a lot of work done. Lots of updates on old cases, too. I just saw the Dana Robertson/Mike Reimer case and according to the new website, a skull identified as belonging to Mike Reimer was found only a year ago.
It appears hours could be spent on the new site, going through updates on the old cases I remember being aired during the show's original run.
QuenSolen 07-18-2014, 11:14 AM I can't seem the access the website...

Me either.
TheCafeDisco 07-18-2014, 12:37 PM Love it! Looks great and professional while still being eerie!
QuenSolen 07-18-2014, 12:45 PM homepage works now, but all of the links are still leading to down pages.
Spark Of Spirit 07-18-2014, 12:47 PM Me either.Me three.
TheCars1986 07-18-2014, 01:23 PM Working for me now, but it's very slow. But I do like the new concept of viral videos being uploaded to help seek justice.
Spark Of Spirit 07-18-2014, 01:39 PM It finally works for me, too.
If they're creating a store, I really hope they're considering a soundtrack. I guarantee they would sell out on that really fast.
karenjanee 07-18-2014, 07:41 PM pretty cool... I like the current cases.
Guardian 07-18-2014, 08:15 PM I'm digging the new site. While maybe not what we all would hope for (the series coming back) it is a step in the right direction. I like that they have new mysteries on there.
That's what it was all about. Mysteries put into main stream media so cases could get solved. That's why UM needs to be back on. This site will hopefully help with that.
Shows have come back from far less, (Firefly anyone?). They had Browncoats, I say UM fans should call ourselves The Trench-coats. Yeah, yeah I know Columbine and all. But I'm taking Trench-coats back from them. Trench-coats unite! Who's with me?:-) Trench-coats unite!
QuenSolen 07-19-2014, 12:32 AM Everything is A-ok on the website now. :)
Guardian 07-19-2014, 01:17 AM So... No trench-coats? Dang.
sffan 07-19-2014, 01:23 AM Anyone see the "my mysteries" section of the site? The first mystery is of a young women's murder narorrated by her aunt. It may not be a completely new show but it's a start, and hopefully these new mysteries will create a larger fan base for a new UM program.
Also who is paying for this website revamp? They are also spending a lot of time on social media, there is a market for unsolved and hopefully this will grow in the future.

Exactly. I posted on Facebook earlier today myself about it. Hopefully if word gets out and enough people like it, full segments can be done again someday.
nikkispence1989 07-21-2014, 10:09 AM Exactly its step in the right direction for new shows. Hopefully the site will gain more publicity with the new cases.
The only thing I wonder and this may be wishful thinking. If a show is brought to air would it be shown in England. I'm not sure if when the show was in its hayday if it showed here because I was too young (and only had channel 1-5). I've never seen a show hosted by RS although I REALLY wish to, over here it seems to be just repeats with DF.
Mysteryphile 07-27-2014, 04:07 PM I suggested the case of Elisa Lam case about a week ago, but I don't think anyone has seen it yet. The case is very creepy and ready made for UM.
This is the last video of her before her body was found.
