View Full Version : Semi-OT/has anyone seen "Weird Or What?"
wiseguy182 07-17-2014, 02:58 AM has anyone watched this program hosted by William Shatner (Rescue 911)? It features a lot of the type of stories UM covered (ghosts, psychics, etc) and they also did a segment on Mothman. Looking at the episode guide (link provided) a lot of the episodes sound really fascinating.

tarheelslim 07-17-2014, 01:38 PM A few years ago I found this show on forbidden site and watched a couple episodes. From what I remember it was decent, but it didn't leave me wanting to keep coming back for more.
MegtheEgg86 07-17-2014, 02:37 PM I've seen at least the episode about the boy with the bleeding eyes because he was from my dad's hometown. The same episode also featured a story about a woman whose blood apparently caused O.R. staff to pass out (a possible explanation was that the woman, who had cancer, was using some very unconventional home remedies for pain, like a chemical sold in some products in hardware stores. When the woman was defibrillated, the substance in her body was then converted to another chemical in a gaseous form, which then caused the adverse effects in the staff.) I only caught the show once at home before I had to go off to class that afternoon, but I thought it was pretty fascinating.
wiseguy182 09-09-2015, 04:22 AM So this show has finally started airing again, although it's not on the networks that originally carried it (Discovery and Syfy) but rather Chiller, which is channel 199 for you fellow DishNetwork subscribers. Among the stories they've tackled that were also on UM include Frederick Valentich and spontaneous human combustion. They've also done the 3 people who went missing from a yacht in Australia, which was also on the Unexplained Files.
And interestingly, they've also covered "The Bennington Triangle" or "Mystery Triangle", an area in Vermont in which numerous mysterious disappearances occurred, including that of Paula Welden, who has been discussed a bit on here.
neognosis 09-09-2015, 10:24 AM ofc i have. in the disappearance of paula jean they speculate bigfoot which is what i thought to :)
DALLASTEXAN!! 09-09-2015, 10:20 PM I have and it did seem interesting. I did like rescue 911 back around the time when UM was in its heyday. I thought he was a great host for that show and could be a possible one for um if it ever did/does new cases.

what did u think of his paranormal explanations?
BlueGalexy 09-10-2015, 12:33 AM I've caught a couple of episodes, but I have to admit my favorite part of the program was it's host.

I like the part where the bird crapped on him.
Cori aka ChrisSCrush 09-10-2015, 01:06 AM A long time ago saw and loved it, then it wasn't shown for the longest, and when it turned back up was on at the same time as an even more interesting program! They either show nothing good on any channel or several good ones at once!
DALLASTEXAN!! 09-10-2015, 07:17 AM what did u think of his paranormal explanations?
I have not seen them. I've only seen a couple of segments and none were paranormal.
wiseguy182 09-22-2015, 07:12 AM if anyone wants to see the episode on Frederick Valentich and the Bennington Triangle, it is airing this Sunday, Sept 27. A couple different times during the day, so check your listings. It is the episode called "Mysterious Vanishings".
Also, on the same day, they have an episode featuring this segment:
"A teenager cries tears of blood."
Is this the new Miss Katie? ROFL!
Cori aka ChrisSCrush 09-23-2015, 12:33 AM How much can you trust a series which refers to James Herriot as "James Elliott"? :mumble:
wiseguy182 10-11-2015, 10:59 AM okay, apparently chiller isn't airing any season 1 episodes.
Also, the locatetv episode guide says there are 10 "international" episodes, but I have no idea if these are episodes with segments from various eps mixed together (like Lifetime did with UM) or they are 10 eps with different segments entirely. My bet is on the former.
