I think Florida just didn't want James to go period. To be gone for that amount of time from your husband can be hard. If the shoe was on the other foot, I doubt that James would want Florida gone for a year no matter how much the pay was for.

Unless my husband was in the Military and he was deployed overseas that would be the only way I would agree for him to move far away without his family. But if it's for a regular job, and his family cannot tag along with him then NO he cannot leave me and our children for a whole year. We would have to struggle together.

Yes, especially if I had teenage sons living in the projects. I would not want my husband gone for a year.

You do what you have to do. My Dad was in the marines and he was gone for a year in Okinawa when I was 7. It was just my Mom and I. He was also gone for 13 months when he was in Vietnam. So he was gone for 2 years out of my childhood. It's hard but it can be done. If this would have improved the Evans financial situation then it would have been worth it. Of course then it might have really been Good Times. lol
