David being a Draft Dodger. If Pinky didn't agree with Archie he could have just stayed quiet and let David leave like he was going to. But Pinky speaks up and says he would like to have dinner with David and didn't care that he was a draft dodger

That's why Archie was looking so embarrassed and didn't want to sit down because Pinky didn't back him up:lol: I would have thrown Pinky and david the f*ck out and just would have had edith and gloria mad at me lol

Poor archie:lol:

What I hated about that scene was how they awkwardly interjected a joke ("You can't get a decent war off the ground that way") way too soon into a very serious, intense moment.

That episode was really intense, very heavy ! Esp. being a Christmas episode. You figure a Christmas epp for a sitcom is usually light hearted , if there is a predicament it is a snow storm keeping the family apart or something like that.

All in the family had a few Christmas Epps that weren't really happy. Another is when Beverly La Salle ( the female impersonator ) was killed and Edith didn't want to celebrate Christmas that year! And when Mike and Gloria moved to Cali, and Archie, Edith and Stephanie visited for the holidays, and finding out the Stivics were separated!

Speaking of Pinky and Beverly. Wasn't Pinky the one that Archie set up on a date with Beverly as a joke to get back at him for all his practical jokes?

She did have to try and break the ice by eating and moving on since it was an awkward moment.

yes, Pinky was the one that Archie set up on a date with Beverly LaSalle but Pinky knew he/she was a guy all along. ME TV showed that one a couple weeks ago.
