In my opinion Debbie Allen did wonders for ADW. The original producer did a good job casting the characters that played Dwayne, Ron, Whitley, and Jalessa, but Debbie Allen really made this show NUMBER ONE.There is no doubt that this show has gone down in History for the best AFRICIAN Americian sitcom on television. It dealt with everything and was so real yet funny.

not just that, how often do you see HBCs on tv in ANY form? has there ever been any other show besides ADW?

I saw Debbie Allen in a new movie this past weekend. The movie was called All About U & she had a small role in it. The movie came straight to video last yr but it came out 3 yrs ago. Mr Gaines who played on A Different World was also in the movie. LisaRaye & Vanessa Bell Calloway were also in it. Terron Brooks was the star of the movie. He played Eddie Kendricks in The Temptations movie. The black woman who plays Evangeline on soap opera One Life To Live was also the star of the movie. It was a romantic drama.

I don't recall any other series dealing with historically black colleges besides Cosby Show. What is interesting to me is that this show is very popular still in reruns even though it is more than 10 years old it doesn't feel dated or old although it is very much of its era.
