My apologies if there is a similar thread. Would appreciate link if so :)

I occasionally read that UM cases featured on other series have much more information. Can I get the names of some cases and shows these are showcased on? I'd like to follow up on cases via netflix and ID, but have a central place to check!

Thanks!

Disappeared is on Netflix. It as a couple of the same cases.

While the names escape me, I know the young lady suspected of being abducted from a laundry mat was featured. As well as the girl that disappeared while out for a run one morning.

Also the Freeman/Bible double missing person case was on there as well.

Jody (not sure how to spell the last name), the news anchor abducted from her apartment complex.

Disappeared featured those. I feel like there were a couple more but I am at work at the moment so my brain is turned off.

Nicqui McCown and Rachel Cooke are who you're thinking of, I believe.

I love watching different shows' episodes on cases featured on UM! Below is a pretty incomplete list, but it might give you a good start.

-Dan Short (I haven't seen this one personally but would LOVE to catch it sometime)
-the "Omar" arsonist
-Shannon Mohr
-Aimee Willard
-Linda Sobek

Cold Case Files (that I can recall):

-the "Omar" arsonist (this one was MUCH creepier than the Forensic Files treatment, as they showed clips of some weird videos the arsonist had made)
-Aimee Willard

-David Tyll and Brian Ognjan (briefly profiled as part of a quick roll-call of missing persons cases sometime during the second season)

City Confidential:

-the Signal Mountain (ATV) murders
-T.K. Harty
-Mia Zapata
-Martha Brailsford (on UM this was featured as part of a segment on self-described psychic witch Laurie Cabot)
-Linda Sobek

The FBI Files:

-Dan Short
-Terry Lee Connor and Joseph Dougherty
-D.B. Cooper

The New Detectives:

-Jeanne Tovrea
-Lita McClinton Sullivan (such an underrated UM case, IMO)

I seem to remember a show doing the Stuart Heaton case as well, but I don't recall what it was.

Wow, thanks so much! I'll be working through these :)

Dominic Dunn used to come on HLN and it no longer does. Loved that show! Even though HLN plays the same eps every weekend!

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up on the other two CC episodes as well. I've always kind of kept an eye on it to see if TK Harty would pop up again.

Didn't CC or Cold Case Files (can't remember exactly which on at the moment) do an episode on Kevin Hughes?

Kevin Hughes was on Cold Case Files. Pretty cool to see Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.

On the Case With Paula Zahn covered Sherry Eyerly's murder. The title of the episode is "Kidnapped on the Fourth of July."

Probably user managed video uploading sites. I don't think those are on netflix.

Crime and Investigation Network is international, and there's a network called CBS Reality that airs these shows as well; you might get those channels.

I didn't know the Huisentruit case was on UM, I need to see that.

I've been really wanting to see Disappeared season 6 but it never gets put up on Netflix. And they don't show it in reruns anymore, correct?

no, reruns still appear frequently on ID. They've been showing 3 episodes daily on weekdays as of late.

I really enjoyed the General Wayne Inn episode on City Confidential, myself. While the focus in the UM segment was unabashedly "ghosts", the City Confidential episode detailed the 1996 murder of its owner--something like 7 or 8 years after the UM segment aired. Just interesting to experience completely different, but consistently eerie takes on the exact same place.

one of my regular trading partners recently acquired an episode of America's Most Wanted from the 80's with James Donald King profiled on it.

I recorded programs on John Purvis and Randolph Dial/Bobbi Parker not all that long ago. Wanna say they were both Dateline, but not totally sure on that.

Nancy Manni was on Motives & Murders.

MegtheEgg86 & wiseguy182 - those are REMARKABLE cataloging skills!

I don't know if y'all keep a personal crime show index of some sort or if you recalled those from memory, but your lists are very impressive.

I hope you both have jobs or lives that require that type of skill because it's too good to go to waste.

Which episode of Forensic Files featured the "Omar" arsonist case?

Forensic Files never featured the case. Misconception to the contrary probably stems from the fact that it was on Cold Case Files. That show profiled the arson case in the episode "Fire Flicks."
