TVLine has learned exclusively that English actress Ophelia Lovibond is joining "Elementary‘s" upcoming third season in the recurring role of Kitty Winter, Sherlock’s (Jonny Lee Miller) new protégé and a rival to her predecessor, Joan (Lucy Liu).

Kitty’s reasons for partnering with Sherlock are nebulous and her new arrangement with him will have ongoing repercussions for his relationship with Joan.
