3 Years After Trial, Casey Anthony is "Afraid of People": Lawyer

Three years after she was declared not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter, one of Casey Anthony's former lawyers says his client never leaves her house and still receives death threats.

"She has to live constantly on guard. She can't go out in public," Cheney Mason told CNN.



He said Anthony, 28, works at home from an undisclosed location in Florida.

"Casey is aloof," Mason said. "She is kind of, I think, afraid of people... she's not real close to. We've had a couple of occasions to have social gatherings that can include her -- close friends, the (legal) team. She still likes to back away from the middle."

Mason also said Anthony does not have a relationship with her mother or father.





Casey Anthony was cleared of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child in 2011.

She still faces legal hurdles including an ongoing bankruptcy process.

In January, a bankruptcy judge ruled that Anthony would not have to pay most of her $970,000 debt.

Last year she agreed to pay $25,000 to her creditors in order to avoid selling off the rights to her life story.

I'm still trying to figure out if any of the stupid Florida jurors regret giving her the "Not Guilty" verdict. If they do not, then they are idiots.

(He knew how to throw everyone off (He was a cop after all))

Wow. she's the total opposite of George Zimmerman. George was still seeing out and about after he was acquitted of a Murder charge in the death of Trayvon Martin..... She is hiding away from the world for the most part...

She is a nasty evil individual and I don't want to hear from her attorney Mr. Mason - shame on the media for giving an interview to him and the grip n' grind photo.

It appears she's in another version of prison. I hate her.

1. They both are about the same age.
2. They both got acquitted of murder.
3. For the most part both of them are oscritzed from society.

However, Casey Anthony has handle her life after acquittal much better than George Zimmerman has. He could learn a few pointers from her. Until now you haven't heard much about her.

Casey Anthony was convicted 4 times of lying to police investigators about the circumstances surrounding her daughter's disappearance and murder. This included making up multiple stories out of whole cloth even one about a person who never existed in an attempt to misdirect the investigation.

Another person I wonder about is Jodi Arrias. Last I heard she was found guilty but a jury had to figure out her penalty. She was left in limbo when I last tuned in to the story on the news which was some time ago.

George Zimmerman should do the same thing.

No she doesn't. She thinks she didn't do anything wrong just like Geoge Zimmerman. They would make a good couple. Nobody else would have them.

I think for the rest of their lives Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman will always be linked together, whether they like it or not.

You can't put Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman in the same group. Casey Anthony killed her daughter. Casey killing her daughter was not in self defense. On the other hand, George Zimmerman was fighting for his own life and in self defense killed Trayvon Martin.

They were both acquitted, but the death of a toddler at the hands of her mother is much worse than having to kill a belligerent teenager in self defense.

Another person I wonder about is Jodi Arrias. Last I heard she was found guilty but a jury had to figure out her penalty. She was left in limbo when I last tuned in to the story on the news which was some time ago.
The penalty phase for Jodi Arias starts in the beginning of September.
